Overview

The Solar Field Quality Manager is responsible for reviewing and driving safe quality construction outcomes for their assigned region of the company. This position will provide field training on installation quality, deliver and explain safety and quality metrics, perform field visits to document and coach on safety and quality, and create safety and quality improvement action plans with regional Electrification Operations Managers. This position will be a “Go To” construction resource for best practices and guidance on the safe installation of residential solar, battery, and evolving electrification products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform branch and field visits the majority of working hours

  • Perform field safety and quality inspections as required

  • Contribute to a strong team culture by being open to or providing constructive feedback, setting goals, and providing coaching and training.

  • Follow and contribute to strong operating structures and support systems to keep a highly technical group of Field Safety and Quality Managers organized and focused on delivering the greatest possible impact for the company and their regions

  • Work in a team environment to learn, develop and instruct installation and safety requirements at a branch and regional level;

  • Standardize material usage and installation techniques for residential solar, battery, and electrification projects

  • Update existing and develop new field training documentation

  • Review and deliver safety and quality performance metrics to focus attention on areas needing improvement;

  • Confidently lead training sessions via conference call, in the branch offices and in the field;

  • Be an expert on Construction Standard Operating Procedures for all products

  • Be an expert on all Safety Operating Procedures and products

  • Contribute to safety incident investigations

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, work effectively with other departments and teams, meet deadlines as well as set and hold others accountable to deadlines, work independently and as part of a team, use computers, and computer software to gather and enter key information.

  • Travel 30% to 60% of the time. If not located in assigned market travel could be greater

REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, AND OTHER SKILLS)

  • MUST BE LOCATED IN LONG ISLAND, NY Candidates NOT on LI, NY will NOT be considered

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the solar industry

  • Bachelor’s degree or Journeyman electrician's license or master Electrician level certification (preferred)

  • Construction safety background, OSHA training certificate

  • Must be a motivated team player, looking to succeed and make a difference;

  • Enjoy working with people, learning and teaching;

  • Must have a deep understanding and hands on experience with residential solar and battery installation techniques and materials;

  • Must understand basic PV solar design principles;

  • Professional appearance and customer interaction;

  • Have a strong work ethic and high level of craftsmanship/workmanship (strong attention to detail);

  • Past experience in creating technical documentation: bulletins, webinar content and presentations;

  • Possess strong mechanical/construction skills;

  • Have excellent verbal communication and documentation skills;

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills;

  • Extensive knowledge of the NEC and applicable codes and standards;

  • Good driving record is a must;

  • NABCEP Certification is a plus;

  • Proficient in GoogleSuite applications or equivalent, (Microsoft Excel and Word)

The hourly range for this opportunity is $96,632 - 135,000. Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility, which is based on company and individual performance, short and long term incentives, and program-specific awards.
