Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Senior Systems Construction Project Manager in Boston, Massachusetts
The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute seeks an experienced Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and completion of low voltage systems supporting the Institute’s capital construction program and related building operations. Reporting to the Director of Construction, this position will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of low voltage system infrastructure installations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to Institute standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in telecommunications, network engineering, and similar systems infrastructure and equipment.

Lead the planning and implementation of low voltage system infrastructure projects from initiation to completion, including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and risk management.
Serving as liaison for Facilities Construction projects, collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure detail coordination with relative Institution departments including Network Engineering and Telecommunications.
Manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring adherence to project schedules and deadlines.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as necessary to keep projects on track.
Coordinate the procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractor services required for telecommunications installations, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project specifications.
Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of systems infrastructure, including structured cabling, network equipment, wireless systems, and other related components.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines throughout the project lifecycle, including adherence to OSHA and FCC regulations.
Manage project budgets, track expenses, and provide regular financial reporting to stakeholders, identifying variances and implementing cost-saving measures when appropriate.
Lead project meetings, including kick-off meetings, progress reviews, and project closeout meetings, to ensure alignment among team members and stakeholders.
Provide leadership, guidance, and support to project team members, including internal staff and external partners, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
Bachelor's degree in telecommunications, network engineering, construction management, or a related field required.
15 years of experience in relevant project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering construction projects on time and within budget required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Strong understanding of systems infrastructure, including structured cabling systems, fiber optics, data networks, wireless technologies, and telecommunication standards.
Excellent project management skills, including the ability to develop project plans, manage project budgets, and coordinate resources effectively.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects concurrently while prioritizing tasks and deadlines.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to telecommunications infrastructure, including NEC, TIA/EIA, and ANSI standards.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervise consulting engineers who are performing work for DFCI, on more than 10-12 projects at any time.
The Systems Construction Project Manager must have the ability to influence decision making in operational and project management areas without benefit of true supervisory responsibilities.
