Senior Strategy Manager, Emerging Markets


This position can sit in Pittsburgh, Houston, or Remote.

Health Market Division (HMD) sells a complete portfolio of clinical diagnostics and lab supplies to its customer base which includes Hospital Labs, National and Independent Reference Labs and Physician Offices that have clinical laboratories. COVID has quickened the pace of testing migration closer to the patient, crafting growth opportunities for diagnostic testing in the continuum of care across new heath care vertical markets.

How will you make an impact:

The goal of this newly built position is to collaborate cross functionally and cross divisionally in the evaluation and development of emerging markets with the objective of delivering outstanding value while achieving financial goals of the organization. The Sr. Manager, Emerging Markets will routinely talk with customers as well as internal and external commercial organizations and have responsibility for market valuation, identification of market strategies, development customer facing solutions, supports a robust portfolio, leading market segment expansion efforts and partner on marketing initiatives.

What you will do:

  • Partner with Sr. Director of Marketing on the Valuation, Strategy & Program to deliver comprehensive strategies and commercial programs.

  • Own the execution for emerging market strategies, programs and campaigns across go to market channels, data science, product management, sales, corporate accounts and commercial marketing for identified workflows

  • Work cross divisionally to partner on direct and distribution opportunities for emerging markets.

  • Lead emerging market intelligence data gathering and analysis to support HMD’s understanding of industry trends, market opportunities/issues, customer requirements & preferences, competitive landscape and business impact, technological advances, portfolio strategy and executive presentation content.

  • Collect and report on segment market trends & dynamics. By means of key customer engagement, sales discussions and other internal or external sources amass new segment trends, demands, needs and perceived/encouraged value of Fisher Health Care to yield identification of potential strategic growth initiatives and build a platform to supervise and act upon tactics.

  • Drive the creation, implementation, refresh and use of customer-facing marketing, merchandising and promotional campaigns and initiatives, to include concepts, tool kits, collateral, communication plans.

  • Develop positive relationships with cross-divisional and Shared Services partners to support and drive HMD’s critical initiatives.

  • Collaborate with marketing team to identify strategic suppliers that demonstrate value to customers and have a financial profile that is accretive to HMD sales and EBITA.

  • Establish relationships with key customers in US to ensure Fisher Health Care is positioned to meet the existing and emerging needs in this market space. This is to be done in conjunction with the appropriate regional, commercial or portfolio management leaders.

  • Design & implement customer-centric marketing programs that drive profitable revenue growth for HMD.

  • Perform other marketing-related tasks or special projects as assigned by manager.

How you will get here:


  • BA/BS required, preferably in business or science

  • MBA in marketing strongly preferred


  • 5+ years combined experience in the following areas

  • Plan and implement marketing, merchandising, and promotional initiatives.

  • Understanding of market and customer segmentation approaches.

  • Strategic development and end-to-end execution of marketing campaigns.

  • Understanding of the clinical laboratory markets, with experience in distribution business model.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, customer orientation, presentation and problem-solving skills.

  • Be a self-starter able to take projects from strategy through to execution with a high attention for detail coupled with innovative thinking.

  • Confidence to maintain a relationship with Director and Vice President level customers/supply partners independently.

  • Multi-tasking experience, flexibility, and understanding of business impact to address immediate priorities and still handle longer-term projects and critical initiatives.

  • Direct selling experience and previous accountability for driving revenue a plus.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

  • Up to 30% estimated domestic travel
