Job Summary

AECOM has a position available for a Senior Stormwater Compliance Engineer. For this role, AECOM offers the freedom and flexibility to work in any office located within the United States with the preference to be in the Washington, DC metro area.

Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • General Stormwater compliance support for NAVY bases

  • Ability to Mentor staff through project team creation and project execution

  • Perform independent technical reviews of engineering reports and designs

  • Conduct face-to-face client meetings

  • Work in a team supporting federal and DoD clients

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering and 4+ years of relevant experience

  • Recent experience at Navy/USMC facilities and/or other DoD facilities

  • Experience with MS4 Program support and compliance

  • Experienced using current engineering design and analysis software such as AutoCAD, or ArcMAP

  • Some travel within the United States may be required periodically

  • Pre-employment motor vehicle driving record verification will be conducted

  • Due to the nature of the work US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, preferably Civil or Environmental or similar is desired

  • Registration as a Professional Engineer is preferred

  • Experience communicating/negotiating with regulatory agencies

  • Experience with project management, technical leadership on projects, and client interaction.

  • Strong writing abilities and experience with preparation of proposals and costing projects

  • Experience performing site selection, stormwater and watershed planning studies, and environmental compliance

  • Experience using current engineering design and analysis software such as Civil3D, MicroStation, EPA SWMM, is desired

  • HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, MS Excel and other advanced modeling software

  • Ability to Mentor staff through project team creation and project execution

  • Perform independent technical reviews of engineering reports and designs

  • Project Management and client management experience

  • Marketing and business development experience
