Your Opportunity
Stantec’s New England Transportation group has an immediate need for a talented, team focused Senior Transportation Engineer with 8 years of experience in roadway/highway design. The location for this opportunity is flexible between our Auburn NH, Quincy MA, Boston MA, or Burlington MA offices and hybrid work. The ideal candidate should have a positive attitude, be self-motivated, be a fast learner, and enjoy working and sharing their experiences and knowledge in a team environment. We are looking for a civil engineer that is experienced and knowledgeable in roadway design throughout the design process. You will join a growing team of transportation professionals and play a lead role in highway design for large and small roadway and bridge projects throughout Massachusetts. The position has the potential to lead to project management.
Your Key Responsibilities
Design roadways in accordance with AASHTO and MassDOT specifications and CAD Standards using AutoCAD Civil 3D
Develop and oversee design plans and calculations, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates
Prepare engineering reports and technical studies such as design memos and Design Justification Workbooks
Collaborate with team members, other disciplines and offices, and sub-consultants
Perform field investigations and construction phase services support
Interact with and present project designs to clients, agencies, and the public
Thorough understanding of project tasks within the overall project schedule, budgeting, and available resources
Mentor and coach junior engineers on transportation design and AutoCAD Civil 3D
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Ability to lead or assist leading a team through all phases of project document production
Ability to be a great collaborator, effective communicator, and time manager
Ability to offer a Comprehensive approach to challenges and problem-solving
Experience with Microsoft Project a plus
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Massachusetts
Minimum of 8 years relevant experience in engineering design with project management experience a plus.
Position will primarily work in an office or virtual setting; may require some field work. #INDInfrastructure #northeastroadway
