Position Overview

As a global leader in 3D design, engineering, and entertainment software, Autodesk helps people imagine, design, and make a better world. Autodesk accelerates better design through an unparalleled depth of experience and a broad portfolio of software to give customers the power to solve their design, business, and environmental challenges.

This is an exciting time to join us on our multi-year journey to disrupt the Design to Manufacture world with Fusion 360 by delivering unprecedented value and converging workflows with cloud-based technology. We are rapidly combining many world leading technologies and teams into the Fusion 360 family.

This role is in the Platform Organization within the Product Design and Manufacturing Solutions division, which leads in defining and building components for the Fusion 360 family of products. We are looking for a Product Owner to help us fulfill the mission of the organization, which is to drive developer productivity, cross platform device independence and software platform consistency.

As a Product Owner you will act as the focal point of a development team. You will work with product management and experience design to collect and prioritize user requirements. You will then work with the scrum teams to produce working software to meet these requirements, helping them to course-correct along the way, leading the review, planning, and retrospective of sprints. You will be the product owner for a multi platform project spanning both client and server implementations, and coordinate efforts across platform targets while ensuring technical dependencies are coordinated and fulfilled. You will have the opportunity to work with talented teams and make a tremendous, lasting impact to our organization and customers.

  • Partner with product management, experience design, software architects, leadership, and other stakeholders to define product requirements and communicate the vision to the engineering team

  • Clearly express backlog items, partnering with scrum teams to break down requirements into epics and user stories

  • Prioritize the product backlog, ensuring incremental delivery of business value over time

  • Ensure that the backlog is visible, transparent, and clear to all to the level needed

  • Review deliverables of the sprints and provide feedback to the scrum teams

  • Communicate status and deliverables to stakeholders and collect feedback for the engineering team

  • Perform basic scrum master facilitation - sprint review/planning, retrospectives, and standups with the scrum teams

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of prior work experience as a Product Owner (or a Project/Product Manager in an agile environment)

  • Experience in projects involving services in the cloud accessed through web, mobile, and desktop

  • Ability to influence and manage expectations within a multi-stakeholder environment

  • Ability to work with teams distributed across multiple locations and time zones

  • Strong planning and dependency management skills

  • Strong understanding and successful application of Scrum and other agile software development methodologies

  • Effective communication skills, able to present complex ideas and tailor the delivery to different audiences

  • Excellent decision-making skills, working to identify scope and owner, and consulting and communication with stakeholders

  • Strong collaboration skills, able to work with a diverse team of engineers, product managers, and experience designers to align and deliver high quality, high impact solutions

  • Commitment to delivering a best-in-class customer and developer experience

  • Commitment to continuous improvement of technical and non-technical skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in building platform-centric projects

  • Experience in using Jira, Confluence and Slack

  • Real-world experience with Autodesk software, preferably Fusion 360

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in an engineering field
