Wayfair Senior Product Design Lead - Merchandising in Boston, Massachusetts

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">How can we leverage AR to make it easier for our customers to imagine how furniture would fit in their space? How can we seamlessly connect them with gig economy assembly and installation pros to get that new chandelier installed before the next dinner party? <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">We’re looking for a motivated leader to join our Physical Retail team at Wayfair, focused on providing&nbsp; new and existing customers with a tangible and elevated way to experience our brand. This role will specifically be focused on creating in-store tools and services that not only deliver a best-in-class customer experience while shopping, but also connect back to Wayfair online experiences in a productive and&nbsp; meaningful way.</span></p>

<p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p>


<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Take complex operational processes across the global merchandising org and tie them into a seamless, scalable, and unified interface/experience that will unlock flexibility for teams</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Own the design strategy for our central merchandising platform in an effort to drive standardization, automation, and testing of merchandising levers</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Conduct user research and translate findings into actionable, innovative, and scalable solutions, with an eye on speed to value</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Create effective user personas by becoming a deep expert in the merchandising space, and learn enough about related platforms (e.g. customer and supplier facing technology/processes) to understand all upstream/downstream impact</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Collaborate with product managers, software engineers, and various merchandising teams to create workflows, wireframes, mock ups, and prototypes</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Influence and guide the product roadmap by clearly articulating the value of design decisions when collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, adapting your communication style based on the audience and scenario</span></li>


<p><strong>Example Projects You Will Lead</strong></p>


<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Optimize the end to end merchandising management experience to increase operational efficiency and improve the quality of our catalog’s descriptive data&nbsp;</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Partner with individual product teams to design internal tools where merchandisers can manage the collection and presentation of product information</span></li>


<p><strong>What You’ll Need</strong></p>


<li><span style="font-weight: 400;">10+ years of professional UX experience</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Passion for building functional and scalable user experiences with a strong user-centric focus</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Expertise in strategic and creative thinking</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ability to keep both the big picture and the details in mind</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Comfort in navigating ambiguity</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">A proactive mindset, with a passion and curiosity for learning</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ample experience in aligning and coordinating across multiple stakeholder groups while balancing/negotiating priorities across teams&nbsp;</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ability to work in a fast paced environment, and comfortably pivot where needed</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience</span></li>
