WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Plumbing and/or Fire Protection Engineer for our Boston, MA office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Development of Plumbing and/or Fire Protection system concepts and designs.

  • Development of Plumbing and/or Fire Protection systems Contract/Bid Drawings.

  • Calculation of water, gas, sanitary/sewer and storm loads for utility coordination and system sizing.

  • Production project specifications for CSI Divisions 21 & 22.

  • Survey and evaluation of existing conditions.

  • Construction Administration, including review of submittals, RFI’s and performing project site visits.

  • Attend Architect/Owner/Contractor meetings.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil or Architectural Engineering.

  • 5+ years experience designing plumbing and/or fire protection systems.

  • Strong working knowledge of ICC and Massachusetts Building, Plumbing, and NFPA codes.

  • Revit & AutoCAD software design experience.

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • CPD and NICET certifications.

  • Professional Engineering License (PE) in MA

  • Masters Degree

  • LEED AP

  • Knowledge of Fire Alarm systems
