Chewy Senior Merchandising Analytics Manager in Boston, Massachusetts

Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking for a Senior Analytics Manager, Merchandising Operations to join our Vendor Experience & Merchandising Systems and Services Team. In this role, you will be directly responsible for delivering scalable data infrastructure, enhancing and driving utilization of self-serve analytics tools, and leading data governance initiatives. You will partner directly with analysts, business cross functional managers and ADs, data engineers, and corporate IT teams to anticipate the data infrastructure needs of the organization and proactively build solutions that fuel data-driven insights.

You will also be responsible for partnering with Business Intelligence teams to evaluate and integrate new analytics platforms while continuously improving data governance and documentation across Merchandising and related data sources.

The ideal candidate has proven experience integrating and scaling data applications, exemplary data visualization skills, and a knack for delivering scalable data architecture. The ideal candidate excels at developing and delivering product roadmaps with proven experience exceeding customer expectations. This individual is highly proficient in cross-functional program management and has proven experience delivering high quality results with minimal direction from leadership. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required as this role will interface directly with cross-functional teams to roll out new tools, communicate infrastructure changes, and advocate data governance best practices.

What You'll Do:

  • Proactively assess the data needs of Merchandising and related functions and partner with data engineering teams to prioritize and QA development of new data tables, metrics, and products

  • Lead efforts to automate data extraction and sending of files to multiple stakeholders

  • Partner directly with Merchandising, Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, and Corporate IT teams to evaluate data products and integrate new tools and technology

  • Own and continually improve metrics documentation and data governance

  • Construct and deliver product roadmaps that deliver insightful and user-friendly dashboards for both internal and external customers

  • Partner with IT teams to construct downstream impact analysis and own change management communication for Merchandising data sources

What You'll Need:

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Economics, Finance, Math, Statistics or a related degree with analytics and quantitative and technical emphasis; MBA or Masters in Analytics preferred

  • Minimum 6 years developing dashboards, automating data processes, and building scalable analytics solutions, preferably in an ecommerce or retail setting

  • Strong leadership skills with minimum of 2 years managing people

  • Proven experience delivering high quality and insightful data visualizations and translating complex data into actionable insights

  • Exemplary stakeholder management and prioritization skills using systems, processes, and scalable frameworks

  • Advanced Tableau skills

  • Strong SQL and familiarity with cloud-based data storage and extraction processes

  • Proven experience delivering large scale analytics initiatives on tight timelines

  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills using data to recommend and drive actions

  • Thorough understanding of Financial KPIs and P&L statement

  • Superior attention to detail and experience building processes to validate data integrity

  • Proven experience leading teams and delivering results in ambiguous and resource constrained environments

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

Bonus:

  • MBA, Masters in Analytics, or equivalent advanced academic degree

  • Experience working with Snowflake

  • Project Management Certification

  • Advanced technical skills using Python or Knime

  • Data modeling experience in Merchandising, Finance, Retail/Ecommerce
