Arup’s Boston Office is continuing to grow and expand! Our teams are working on groundbreaking healthcare design, innovative laboratories, all while reducing embodied carbon within the buildings we design and trying to positively impact underserved communities. We are looking for passionate Senior Mechanical Engineers to join our team to work on projects that are local, regional, and global. In this role, you will:
Lead mechanical design for projects such as Data Centers, Laboratories, Academic, Healthcare, Arts & Cultural, Airports, and Commercial
Help influence clients to incorporate more sustainable design options in projects and reduce embodied carbon in buildings
Mentor junior staff and teach teams to connect their solutions to bigger picture issues
Coordinate with multiple subject areas and working in conjunction with project managers
Attend client meetings and interact directly with clients
Write reports for internal and external purposes based on findings
Conduct thermal load modeling for projects and use BIM
Present technical material in traditional and innovative ways for review by technical and non-technical audiences
Understand trends and standard methodologies in the industry
Participate in local Professional Associations
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
6 or more years of experience designing building HVAC systems, including airside and hydronic system components
Experience with 3D BIM software such as Revit MEP
Experience with load analysis software for calculations
Leading small to medium size projects from a mechanical design perspective
Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working
The ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills required for our constantly evolving environment
Presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levels
Professional Engineering License in US (New England) desired
