Purpose (Brief summary of why role exists):
The Senior Licensing Manager is responsible for the development and management of a portfolio of licensees on a global level. The role includes licensee strategy development, partner management and business planning to ensure licensees achieve royalty revenue and sales targets. The senior manager is also responsible for ensuring products and distribution channels meet the level of quality demanded by the Reebok Brand. The successful candidate will lead negotiation of contracts, possess strong stakeholder management skills and be able to form strong relationships across licensees and internal teams to deliver on plans, financial targets and best in class product execution. Proactive collaboration with other segments of the business (legal, finance, marketing, product teams, design, global market teams, etc.) is required for an integrated approach.
In addition to assuring full compliance to brand license agreements, the Senior Licensing Manager will play a leadership role in developing and executing the overall Licensing Strategy for Reebok. He/she will develop strategic business plans for potential new categories and will present such plans internally to Senior Management.
Key Accountabilities (List the 5-10 major areas of responsibility for role):
Manage and optimize portfolio of brand licensees – Meet or exceed revenue plan commitments, assure compliance with all SEA and contractual obligations and align licensees to global brand strategies.
Quickly develop expertise in each of the relevant licensed categories and act as the corporate resource for these categories. This includes developing a thorough understanding of the product line, the market, competitors, and all capabilities of the licensee.
Lead semi-annual business reviews with each licensee and master the financial forecasting of these businesses.
Identify opportunities among all licensees and/or between licensees and Reebok for cross promotion, cross merchandising, cross-selling.
Actively expand new license categories and pursue potential partners – Independently identify and pursue new licensing categories, create Reebok brand overview presentations, sell brand concepts and opportunities externally, and negotiate related agreements.
Develop strategic business plans for all existing areas of responsibility as well as select new categories. Present such plans to Senior Management to gain consensus.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of licensing contract structures
Excellent communication skills and comfort level presenting to large audiences.
Independent and strategic thinker with experience presenting comprehensive business analysis on new business opportunities.
Strong business acumen and attention to detail.
Experience in strategic planning and in developing and executing strategic business plans.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
Qualifications (Minimum required education and experience):
Minimum of 5 years experience in licensing, marketing or related field.
Prior experience negotiating legal contracts and other legal documents.
Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Sales, or related business
Willingness to travel up to 25% of time.
