American Tower Senior Financial Analyst, Capital Markets in Boston, Massachusetts
We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst, Capital Markets to join American Tower’s Corporate Finance organization. Day to day you will conduct sound, data-driven, research and analysis to support the Company’s capital planning and financing strategy. The Senior Financial Analyst will take on significant responsibilities related to managing the Company’s strategic capital allocation, funding plan, capital structure and risk management, and supporting its active M&A pipeline. The Senior Financial Analyst will use strong judgement, advanced financial modeling, and presentation skills to distill extensive amounts of business and financial data into relevant, concise and clear information and recommendations that will directly support management’s decision-making.
The job will require thought leadership and flexibility to manage technical and operational complexity, large data sets, trade-offs, and multiple competing priorities to consistently come up with creative solutions often within tight timelines. To succeed, it is critical that the Senior Financial Analyst has strong communication skills and develops strong relationships with Corporate Accounting, Legal, Tax, and senior management across geographies and business units. The Senior Financial Analyst will also support management of key external stakeholders including relationship banks, credit rating agencies and fixed income investors messaging.
What You Can Offer Us
Monitor global capital markets conditions, research relevant topics and trends, drive benchmarking and competitive analysis, and create and deliver periodic reports.
Play a primary role in developing the global funding strategy identifying optimal funding sources and ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and financial policies.
Support execution of capital markets transactions including loans, debt and equity offerings.
Support the investment committee M&A process by reviewing potential targets, identifying efficient financing strategies, and contributing to negotiations and agreement drafting as required.
Conduct capital planning, and support and review cash flow forecast.
Act as key contributor to capital allocation process including WACC review and oversight, dividend benchmarking and share repurchase program.
Support tracking and reporting of banks’ share-of-wallet, and bank relationship management.
Support credit rating agencies’ management including presentations, financial modelling, and communication.
Conduct liability management, and interest rate and FX risk management.
Prepare presentations for senior management and board of directors and proactively assist management team with recurring and ad hoc deliverables.
Review the Company’s Annual Report, periodic SEC filings, press releases and other corporate communication to ensure consistency with capital markets and investor messaging.
Support debt compliance together with Corporate Accounting, Treasury, and business units.
Other duties as assigned.
What You Need to Succeed
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related major required. Master’s and/or CFA degree preferred.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a banking, financial services firm or business environment in a capital markets, corporate financial analysis, accounting or treasury role required.
Strong capital markets, corporate finance, and accounting theoretical knowledge. Experience in securities, fixed income, public offering processes, and loan structuring and syndications preferred.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and PowerPoint), including experience with pivot tables, macros and complex formulas, and PowerPoint template design required. Bloomberg, Capital IQ, Treasury Management System (Reval or similar), ERP systems, and Oracle experience preferred.
Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; ability to analyze large data sets.
Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to be flexible regarding work hours during busy periods to ensure project deadlines are met.
