Their primary responsibilities will include overseeing the CMS and ensuring a consistent website experience, writing web copy and emails, developing email donor journeys for segmented audiences, and maintaining a calendar for digital content across the Trust. The ideal candidate is someone who is skilled at balancing strategy and execution, who listens deeply and offers solutions to digital communications needs across the organization.

This Senior Digital Communications Officer will:

  • Manage digital content strategy for new website pages, event websites, and microsites. Understand and translate input from Trust stakeholders to ensure website copy is engaging, accurate, and optimized for organic traffic

  • Write engaging copy for website landing pages, donation forms, microsites, and emails for newsletters, event recruitment, triggered email series, and other communications outreach

  • Use Google Analytics to analyze website data and make recommendations for website updates to increase traffic and improve visitor experience. Design tests for ongoing learning and optimization.

  • Create email donor journeys for donors, peer-to-peer event participants, and new supporters to support Trust’s fundraising goals

  • Collaborate with Digital Communications team, Brand & Creative Services team, and external agencies to ensure brand consistency and to align digital standards across communications products and campaign assets

  • Train staff on CMS and produces instructions to help distribute ownership of content production

  • Maintain knowledge base on industry trends and best practices in digital marketing in nonprofit sector and identify areas for growth

  • Support peer-to-peer texting program as needed

    To qualify, you must have:

  • BA degree in Communications, or closely related field and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Marketing, Digital Communications, or a related field.

  • Excellent communication skills (written as well as verbal and interpersonal) as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other staff and external vendors.

  • Strong writing and editing skills.

  • Experience with nonprofit marketing solutions. BBCRM, Luminate Online preferred.

  • Comfort using Google Analytics to present technical information to range of audiences.

  • Experience with content management systems (CMS). Drupal preferred.

  • Experience with Google Search Console and relevant SEO tools.

  • Knowledge of website accessibility and web and email standards
