Gilbane Senior Business Leader in Boston, Massachusetts

G.O Services, a fully owned subsidiary of Gilbane Building Company. The G.O Services Business Leader will be responsible for the continued growth and success of the division. This individual will work directly with senior management, operations peer groups, business leadership teams, project administration, superintendents, union officials, subcontractors, suppliers, dealers, manufacturers, engineers, legal and risk management to deliver value and profitability for the organization.

For GO Services Leader - Newly established role to drive the strategic growth of the business through the continued development of organizational structure, connection, and standard operating procedures.

Typical Responsibilities

  • Meet established Sales/Gross Profit/Overhead/Net Income goals for Division and take action to prevent erosion, forecast slippage, risks and project financial performance including development of risk management strategies.

  • Help define vision/strategy and manage team to oversee the execution of the strategy for continued excellence and results of the Division.

  • Manage and monitor safety results on all projects and, in collaboration with Safety Director, implement corrective actions when needed.

  • Responsible for ensuring that all safety precautions, quality standards, and reporting are met.

  • Promote a culture of scaled innovation to drive consistent and sustainable growth/profitability.

  • Understand Competitive Intelligence and how to position GO within local geographies.

  • Grow GO Service offerings and scopes of work (current)

  • Hold Division staff accountable and ensure people are in the right positions to ensure success

  • Drive and lead initiatives for Employee Engagement and Retention

  • Recruit and hire top talent and key strategic hires to drive Division growth Model efforts for culture, Inclusion and Diversity and our Core Values

  • Build and maintain client market and union relationships

  • Compliance with local state, federal, and union requirements 

  • Strong ability to drive change and proactively manage others

  • Strategic thinker; detailed and structured thought process

  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to maintain a level of approachability with colleagues both internal and external.

  • Leverage Shared Services and implement One Company systems, programs and processes

  • Advanced presentation, negotiation and facilitation skills.

  • Strong Financial and Technical Acumen

  • In-depth understanding of construction principles and procedures

  • Experience and proficiency in all divisions of work, methods, materials, scheduling and cost control

  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills

  • Ability to communicate and report effectively

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Computer proficiency, including MS Office

  • Expected to obtain or have OSHA 30 hour certification

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • 20+ years of construction management experience

  • Successfully grown and managed a book of business of $100M+ and 5+ direct reports

  • Proven record of delivering safety, financial, client, and people management results in a complex business

  • Experience in building, developing, and leading cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment
