Boston Globe Media Partners Sales Representative in Boston, Massachusetts

Boston Globe Media is seeking an entrepreneurial sales -driven, business development executivefor our Corporate Advertising Team. In this role you will represent Boston Globe?s full advertisingand branded product suite to agencies and brands in our technology vertical. You willwork hand in hand with our marketing and events team to pitch integratedprograms. You will collaborate across internal teams, from audience development toeditorial, and build a strong local media network that increases the opportunity forour brand partners. This position can be based out of anywhere in the United States.

Responsibilities:? Lead the charge in our technology vertical, hitting your annual revenue target goals? Develop a robust local sales pipeline that meets and fulfills the revenuetargets and margin profiles? Establish a deep understanding of Boston Globe?s products, ideate strategicsolutions based on client briefs, and put together proposal responses? Serve as liaison between internal teams across business and editorial to buildcomprehensive events programs? Spearhead a local media network that increases the reach and opportunityfor our local brand partners

Qualifications:

  • 3-7 Years Experience in Digital Sales Management Role:

They should be able to identify the top digital advertisers in yourspecific vertical and understand how to develop sales packages and solutions forthese leader advertisers. They should have strong client management skills and beable to position the Boston Globe digital brands effectively in the marketplace.

  • Digital Sales Product Knowledge:

Should understand key digital ad performance metrics andproducts, CPM, retargeting, behavioral targeting, non-display products (contentmarketing, video, sponsorship), and client performance reporting requirements.They should be able to work with Ad Ops in developing client reporting functionsand performance metrics. They should understand how to position the Globe vs. AdNetworks, FB/Google, and other digital alternatives. They should understand how tosell brand, but in a digitally-focused environment. Experience in selling branded content is a plus.

  • Sales Skills:

Will need to be able to manage his or her own book of business.In other words, they will need to carry their own quota; and be able to manage anaccount list directly for major accounts. Traditional client management and salesskill apply.

  • Ability to Collaborate with Product Teams:

Will will need to work closely with the content and product team in the development of client-facing solutions, establish relationships with marketers and agencies and key contacts in the industry, and havea deep interest in local media and the evolving media space and eagerness to develop innovative solutions
