Microsoft Advertising (MSA) is a worldwide Sales, Marketing and Services organization on the cutting edge of the digital advertising industry. We are the engine that powers the buying and selling of digital advertising across all aspects of our digital portfolio including our high-growth search engine, Bing.
The Sales Excellence team are seeking a number of Sales Excellence Managers, with one role to work with the Global Agency Development (GAD) team and another to work with the Retail Sales team. The GAD team’s purpose is to develop and manage partnerships with our agencies to help them unlock growth opportunities across MSA’s suite of products. The Retail Sales team works with the largest Retail brands and agencies to unlock growth opportunities in their industry, and to enable solutions that maximize their potential. The individuals in these roles will bring a broad set of business skills and a deep understanding of the operation of Sales organizations, ideally in the digital advertising space.
These roles require a strategic thinker and strong collaborator, with impeccable communication, planning, and execution skills. This role is responsible for coordinating across our Agency Leads and sellers around the world, and with our partners internally in the Microsoft Business teams, Engineering teams, and MSA Global Operations to develop key insights and enable critical decision-making for our Agency and MSA Leadership.
Key Responsibilities include:
Contribute to the business planning rhythm including preparation for, and participation in, the Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Rhythm-of-the-Business (RoB) activities. The Sales Excellence Manager will connect the dots from around the business to distill complex detail, and weave the story from the data
Develop qualitative/quantitative analysis of customer trends across the ecosystem
Leverage and develop reporting capabilities that enable visibility into revenue, forecast, and attainment for their Sales teams
Contribute to incentive compensation and quota management activities, with Finance, analyst and Sales Excellence teams
Collaborate with the Sales Leaders and Global Ops team to build a vision for the future state of the sales teams. Articulate the resourcing requirement needs for this group, creating new role definitions, and clearly establishing roles and responsibilities with all other teams
Partner with broader Field Sales Excellence community to leverage existing tools and best practices as well as ensuring representation for the Sales teams in core field Sales Excellence exercises (e.g. Business updates, segmentation reviews)
Partner with stakeholders across MSA, particularly with Sales Leadership and Readiness teams, to ensure that the team are on track for any role evolution
Lead strategic and operational planning activity with the Sales Leader and the team to land priorities and initiatives effectively
3+ years of professional experience in analytics, sales, marketing or business operations
2+ years of experience in a similar function, ideally within digital advertising
Professional experience working across functions to influence business strategy
BA/BS from an accredited college/university or at least 4 years of relevant professional experience
Strong communication skills in all areas of the business – from Senior Leadership through all field roles – with high attention to clear and concise delivery
Willingness to adapt quickly to shifting business priorities and ability to work effectively under pressure
Ability to function effectively in a highly-matrixed work environment with strong cross-functional team collaboration skills
Demonstrated experience in developing end-to-end processes to support complex business problems
Strong analytical skills to generate insights that inform the best course of action for the Sales teams
The ideal candidate is a seasoned business professional with either analytics, sales, marketing or operations experience who is passionate about helping sellers deliver great solutions to their clients
Sales and/or client facing experience preferred
Search Advertising experience preferred
Some travel may be required (less than 25%)
