JLM Strategic Talent Partners Safety Manager in Boston, Massachusetts

JLM Strategic Talent Partners is currently looking for a Safety Manager with experience in the construction industry to be a part of a major project in Boston, MA. This is an exciting opportunity to join a major project with a leading company in the industry with tremendous career growth.

Responsibility

  • Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace and at the project according to legal guidelines

  • Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety

  • Evaluate practices and procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the regulations

  • Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention

  • Monitor compliance to policies and regulations

  • Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions

  • Investigate accidents and incidents

  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures

  • Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics

  • Reviewing blueprints, ventilation systems, and lighting

  • Mapping out emergency evacuation plans, including locations for fire extinguishers and first-aid kits

  • Inspecting equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions

  • Consulting building codes, government regulations and other emergency response agencies in order to ensure that the workplace is compliant with health, safety and environmental regulations

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of professional experience in safety management of major urban projects

  • Current CHST certification

  • Certificate from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals

  • Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines

  • Ability in producing reports and developing relevant policies

  • Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment

  • BS in safety management or relevant field is preferred
