HAKS Resident Engineer in Boston, Massachusetts
We are looking for a Resident Engineer who has experience working with infrastructure, roadways, and utilities projects in our Boston, MA office.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
The Resident Engineers shall manage each aspect of the work including but not limited to: Utilities, Civil and Structural
Review design and bidding documents.
Supervise field staff and contractors on the site with responsibility for quality construction in accordance with plans and specifications.
Track progress and process DB Entity payment estimates based on accepted and installed quantities and CPM schedules.
Coordinate, review, and process change orders.
Track the progress of the job against the schedule.
Make sure that all construction activities are being carried out in accordance to present safety rules.
Provide technical advice to field staff in order to ensure that construction procedures are being carried out properly.
Prepare progress reports and assessments for each project phase.
Review and approve the Contractor's initial construction progress schedule and all updates.
Supervise the activities of Construction Inspectors as to testing needs.
Review all shop drawings, catalog cuts, material certifications and methods of work and equipment.
Coordinate the construction activities with neighboring agencies, local communities, utility owners and other Contractors working concurrently in the same or adjacent work zone.
Conduct a pre-construction conference, attend all meetings called by the client, and convene job meetings with the Contractor.
Requirements:
Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management preferred.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Construction Management managing construction projects .
Ability to manage schedule and project budget to meet client schedule.
Strong computer skills – experience w/ Expedition, Prolog, P36, and/or Contract Manager preferred.
Ability to take charge and effectively manage contractor trades to meet project schedule.
Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations with 10HR OSHA Safety card minimum.
