TheExpertiseWe’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • 1-2 years of experience, investment experience preferred

  • Series 7 and 63 (or must obtain within 90 days of hire)

  • Progress towards CFA preferred, but not required

ThePurposeof Your Role

Reporting into the VP, Fund Research, you will be part of the Investment Services Research team within Workplace Investing. In this role, you will be responsible for the production of periodic and ad hoc client presentations, supporting senior analysts with fund analytics and contributing to thought leadership white papers and related presentations.

  • You have outstanding quantitative skills including excellent Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • You comprehend complex market and investment statistics, and learn quantitative analytical tools to assess investment strategies

  • You have exposure to Morningstar Direct, FactSet, or eVestment

  • You have confidence to interact effectively with analysts and investment consultants

  • You are capable of managing a variety of tasks simultaneously with superior organizational skills

  • You have outstanding written and verbal communication skills

  • You work well in a team environment

TheValueYou Deliver

  • Coordinating the production of the quarterly “Funds for Discussion” presentations of best-in-class mutual funds and CITs meeting our proprietary screening criteria and qualitative assessment of future performance expectations and suitability

  • Supporting one or more analysts with coverage of the investment products within assigned peer groups including:

o Preparing for meetings with portfolio managers to discuss investment philosophy, investment process, performance and risk characteristics, with a goal of understanding future performance expectations and the suitability for the funds use in Defined Contribution plans

o Assisting with analysis of fund performance, risk and holdings using analytical tools such as FactSet, Morningstar, and Bloomberg

o Contributing to investment thought leadership including market analysis and specific research for thematic white papers or client materials

  • Supporting the analyst responsible for custom Investment Consultant and client requests including:

o Gathering performance and portfolio information on mutual funds and institutional CITs

o Assisting with client mappings related to merging of 401K plans

o Providing share class information and comparisons

o Confirming data such as expense ratio and performance ranking

Investment Services (IS) Research team provides superior fund analysis and investment thought leadership to the investment consulting, product management, and client-facing teams. The IS Research team prepares and distributes analysis of fund performance and investment strategies to assist with investment menu design for the defined contribution plans of Fidelity's institutional clients.
