Location/Division Specific Information

This position is apart of the GSD Commercial business unit in the Genetic Sciences Division at Thermo Fisher.

How will you make an impact?

The Marketing Operations Manager function plays the role of connecting the commercial sales goals to guide appropriate marketing strategy and deployment and ensures proper management of marketing alignment initiatives and processes that will support exceptional lead management, enhanced data quality, and improved lead generation. The team works to support the regional marketing managers in developing and managing the tactics through our systems for marketing campaigns/programs in support of the commercial business strategy. The Marketing Operations Manager reports into the Director of North America Regional Marketing and oversees marketing project and campaign planning, creative production process management, technology infrastructure, data analytics and the North America Regional Marketing OPEX & Budget. In addition to managing the execution of the regional marketing creative, this manager will also have responsibility for overseeing internal and external event management and lead qualification & nurturing of the leads generated from these events and programs.

What will you do?

  • Manage a team (currently 6 employees) made up of Marketing Programs Specialists, Digital Marketing specialists, Tradeshow & Events specialist, & Lead Qualification team for the North America GSD Core Product Lines (Capillary Electrophoresis, qPCR, & Microarray).

  • Support strategies for marketing campaigns (e.g., SEO, blog, on domain display, web, email campaigns, social media and ecommerce) to generate high quality leads, marketing collateral and sales tools.

  • Oversee the coordination of collateral and sales tools production, data, automation, and integrations for the North America regional marketing team in the systems that we use for our tactic management (i.e. Workfront)

  • Implement a multi-channel account-based marketing strategy by leveraging existing marketing automation platforms.

  • Build out processes and SOPs, as well as maintaining them through organizational changes.

  • Implement and track activities, adjusting as needed to maximize effectiveness and routinely reporting back on that effectiveness to management.

  • Work collaboratively with regional/global marketing and other cross-functional roles, providing input for outbound marketing strategy/mix.

  • Collaborate with marketing, commercial, and financial analytics teams in order to provide data-driven solutions.

  • Provide inputs on priorities and identify roadblocks, being solutions minded.

  • Build and Maintain reports for the team to track and manage their programs and budget

  • Track and benchmark inbound and outbound marketing spend and forecast, looking for optimization, growth, scalability, insights, and opportunities.

  • Oversee the coordination of internal and external GSD events, conferences, and tradeshows and work collaboratively with the North American events team.

How will you get here?


  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications or related discipline


  • 5 years of experience in marketing, marketing automation, ecommerce, and/or product marketing in life sciences or high-tech industry preferred.

  • Proven track record and experience in developing outbound and inbound marketing campaigns.

  • People Management Experience Preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel, and willingness to present to upper management

  • Excellent time management and communication skills

  • Highly organized and driven individual willing to lead by example
