Job Description

Living Proof is seeking an entry level R&D Lab Technician who will be responsible for supporting the development of new products and ensuring quality is maintained for products in the market. The position will lead product stability testing to ensure products meet defined standards and manage incoming production quality samples. Additionally, the role will be responsible for laboratory upkeep, including chemical inventory management, ordering of laboratory supplies, and supporting Product Development Chemists in daily activities and operations. This is a full-time position based at the corporate headquarters in Boston, MA working on-site with the R&D Department.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, stage, and evaluate stability samples according to established stability SOPs.

  • Conduct all product stability testing, evaluating and assessing factors such as color, odor, appearance, pH, and viscosity.

  • Maintain accurate and complete records of all testing activities and evaluations.

  • Generate reports capturing all results and communicate any out-of-spec results with Product Development team members and management.

  • Log incoming production quality samples, support internal quality assessments, and generate approval documents as needed.

  • Assist in the creation of product finished goods specifications by conducting additional testing such as specific gravity, extrusion, etc.

  • Maintain specific laboratory equipment and that the lab environment remains clean and organized.

  • Record and maintain inventory for raw materials, chemicals, and lab equipment.

  • Oversee the management and upkeep of the Living Proof Chemical Inventory system. Perform regular audits of the system as needed to ensure accuracy and compliance with permitted chemical safety limits.

  • Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and place regular orders as needed to support all of R&D.

  • Assist the Product Development team as needed to meet program objectives and deadlines.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree in a Scientific or Engineering discipline. (i.e. Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Microbiology, Pharmaceutical sciences/engineering).

  • Knowledge of basic lab equipment and experience working with pH meter and viscometer preferred.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and interacting with various members of the R&D team.

  • Exhibit excellent organization, planning and multi-tasking skills. Detailed oriented is a must.

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • High proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office
