Our Energy and Water Consulting | Professional Services Team has an immediate full time opening for a Software Quality Assurance Test Lead who will be focused on providing software testing expertise for Oracle Energy and Water product implementation engagements of Customer Cloud Service (CCS), Customer to Meter (C2M), and other Oracle Energy and Water software applications.
The Quality Assurance Test Lead will ensure the quality of the consulting delivery implementation for assigned projects and will maintain customer reference-ability. As a Quality Assurance Test Lead , you will define the standard testing strategies and detailed testing plans for implementation projects and manage all activities related to testing Oracle Energy and Water software products, client specific configuration and customizations, integrations, and client data. You will bring best practices in software testing with experience in leading testing activities for multi-million dollar implementation projects.
As a Quality Assurance Test Lead, you should have experience leading the preparation and execution of all testing phases including System Testing, System Integration Testing, Performance Testing, Regression Testing and User Acceptance Testing.
You will plan and manage the activities of testers (both Oracle and customer) so Quality Assurance team leadership skills as a billable consultant are very important. You will be training client resources brought in from positions within their business how to quickly become capable software testers. You will also be involved in defining standard testing strategies, testing tools, best practice test execution plans, automation scripting for Oracle Utilities Testing (UTA), and collateral that can will be re-used on future implementation projects.
Responsibilities
Ensure that operational policies are followed and that business objectives are achieved by focusing on TCoE best practices and process improvements.
Lead testing worksteam for consulting projects for Oracle owned test phases and/or serve as advisor for moderately complex engagements.
Present test workstream status, metrics and detailed reports to Project managers, sponsors, and leadership team utilizing TCoE templates
Define customized Test Strategy, Test Plans and appropriate testing tools, best practice test execution plans, re-usable test scripts, and collateral for Oracle Utilities consulting engagements and be ultimately responsible for the quality of the solution being implemented
Provide leadership, through expertise and best practice throughout the testing life cycle and mentor other team members as needed
Coach Oracle or client testing resources in best practices of software testing including:
How to write a test case based on the input (business requirements/ functional specification) and focused on expected results
How to ensure completeness of testing while minimizing redundancy
How to execute test cases and log results
How to write informative defects to clearly communicate problems to the team responsible for fixing them
Using SQL to help with setting up test pre-conditions and other test data set up
Develop testing plans and resource schedules for each phase in the software testing life cycle considering all factors impacting the success and completeness of the testing phase
Define needs and dependencies for each testing phase: resource, environment, data, code, etc.
Effectively estimate and maintain project plan for test creation, execution, defect retest, etc.
Lead efforts to develop and document testing scenarios to ensure completeness and traceability
Manage test execution and provide visibility to project management and project sponsors through meaningful metrics and dashboards
Provide thought leadership for repeatable test assets, continuous test team productivity, and be creative to ensure that committed test deliverables are met on time for projects
Hands-on test execution, lead and implement automation for improving delivery efficiency and test team productivity
Play a key role in contributing to the success of TCoE by providing thought leadership, defining & rolling out methodologies and guidelines for Test delivery, and mentoring junior team members
Qualifications include:
Proven track record of leading testing activities for multiple large-scale, multi-million dollar consulting engagements (such as ERP implementations)
Proficiency with SQL
Experience leading all phases of large, complex software testing for consulting / billable project engagements
Expertise in Software Testing tools such as MicroFocus ALM, JIRA, Azure, etc.
Strong knowledge base in Automation Testing
Strong communication skills with all levels of leadership and with client sponsors
Ability to provide thought leadership and stability to the team when things don’t go as planned
8+ years overall relevant experience
Experience as a Test Lead on projects in the Electric, Water or Gas industry is highly preferred
Any testing experience with utilities software such as CIS, CC&B, MDM, C2M, CCS, etc…is also highly preferred
Ability to travel to client locations as needed
Travel requirement of up to 50%

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated location(s)
California Pay Range: from $95,900 to $192,000 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Colorado Pay Range: from $90,600 to $172,800 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
New York City Pay Range: from $90,600 to $182,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Washington Pay Range: from $101,300 to $182,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
