The Middlesex Corporation QC Technician - Rail in Boston, Massachusetts
The Quality Control Rail Technician performs inspections, audits, and construction surveillance necessary to verify performance to codes, standards, specifications and drawings.
Comply with (and actively promote) all Safety policies and procedures including reporting all accidents, incidents and near-misses to ensure adherence to our Number One Core Value – Safety first, in everything we do.
Ensures project quality plan is implemented and followed.
Monitors and tracks corrective and preventative actions.
Perform process and quality audits and visual inspections.
Analyze date, prepares reports and evaluates audit findings.
Ensures compliance to contract specifications.
Works with Construction Supervisors, Schedulers and planners to implement the project quality plan ensuring understanding of the project scope and schedule.
Enforce quality control and Company safety policies on all aspects of the work.
Communicate daily with QC Manager.
Calculates pay factors and tonnage totals on daily lab reports.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Quality Control Technician in Railroad construction environment.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Maintain a flexible work schedule allowing for travel to different projects.
Working knowledge of regulatory agency quality assurance/quality control activities.
Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Must possess the ability to adapt to different personalities and management styles.
Team player and with a strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to work with a team in an efficient and effective manner.
Self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Reliance on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Dedicated and hard working.
Above average organizational skills.
