The Manager, Public Relations (PR) will create, plan, and execute public relations strategies alongside our head of content and PR in an ongoing effort to maintain and enhance the perception of our company among various internal and external audiences.
Essential Job Functions:

Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares and disseminates information regarding Vaco and the family of brands through media relations, including but not limited to periodicals (digital and print), newspapers, television and radio.
Maintains and cultivates media relations, including active and consistent pitching efforts.
Improves the quality of the companies’ voices via different online and offline channels.
Ensures public relations goals and strategies are met.
Helps maintain a favorable public image for the organization.
Suggests effective ways of peacefully resolving any internal or external disputes related to PR.
Conducts research and analyzes public opinion.
Builds and maintains targeted media lists, and consistently nurtures relationships with key reporters.
Provides leadership and direction for all phases of creative development work from concept to completion.
Studies current trends and technologies to adopt the most effective tools and techniques across all media.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or related ﬁeld
5+ years of public relations experience preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Technical writing experience (e.g., white papers, articles, case studies) a plus
Strong Microsoft Oﬃce Skills, including MS Word (Track Changes) and MS PowerPoint
Familiarity with PR/collaboration tools (Muck Rack, Microsoft Teams, HARO, com, or other project management tools and methodologies)
SharePoint experience a plus
Less than 20% travel.
