In this position...

The Vehicle Thermal Systems 1D/3D CFD section is responsible for analyzing the engine cooling system. Members of the section use various CFD methods to quantify component hardware and system level design impacts on engine performance, fuel consumption, emissions, NVH, system level hydraulic response and durability to help drive the engine/ Powertrain design and address issues that arise during the engine/ Powertrain development process. Specific studies may include cooling system flow predictions, system layout and component selection, and coolant fill-deaeration.

What you'll do...

Perform 3D thermal/fluid CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulations at the system, subsystem, and component levels of Powertrain systems, both ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) as well as BEV, FHEV and PHEV using commercial CFD software.

Work with component and system engineers and provide technical guidance.

Develop and apply CFD methods to support product development and virtual test sign-off.

Work with software suppliers to improve software capabilities.

Work with testing engineers to obtain viable correlation data.

You'll have...

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

2+ years of experience in the use of analytical tools including STAR-CCM+, CONVERGE, Simerics, GT-SUITE, AMEsim, Flomaster etc.

2+ years of experience in automotive ICE/Powertrain or vehicle CFD applications.

2+ years in common computer languages: C, C+, Java, Python, shell script, MATLAB, etc.

2+ years of experience with Pre-processing tools such as ANSA, Hyperworks etc.

4+ years of CAD systems preferably CATIA.

Even better, you may have...

Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

4+ years of experience in automotive ICE/Powertrain or vehicle CFD applications.

6+ years of CAD systems preferably CATIA.

Self-directed, confident and resilient individual with excellent communication skills.

Excellent work planning and issue resolution skills.

This position is a salary grade 8.

This position is a range of salary grades 6-8 .
