Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Provider Financial Management Analyst in Boston, Massachusetts

WHAT WE NEED:
The Provider Financial Management Analyst is responsible for the research, analysis, development and design of financial modeling to support provider reimbursement strategy focusing on hospital, ancillary and physician reimbursement. The Provider Financial Management Analyst leads the financial support for a number of provider negotiations, ensuring adherence to financial targets and mitigating risk. In addition, the Provider Financial Management Analyst supports the development and enhancement of several tools and reporting suites used to communicate current and projected reimbursement levels to cross functional business partners and external stakeholders.
YOUR DAY TO DAY:
Provide financial evaluation, analytic expertise, and industry research in support of provider reimbursement
Work collaboratively with Contracting, Legal, and other business partners to provide financial and analytic support for negotiation and contracting work
Provide financial and analytic leadership in the development and evolution of methodologies for provider-centric products such as tiered networks
Maintain and develop advancements in evaluation of network wide price variation; communicate results with key stakeholders; respond to current and evolving regulatory requests
Perform research and evaluation of advanced payment models and other market evolutions such as bundled payments, DRG grouper updates, and ICD-10 implementation
Communicate results of research and analysis to cross functional business partners at all levels throughout the organization, as well as externally to providers and regulators
WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
Exceptional knowledge of healthcare delivery systems, provider reimbursement methodologies and provider incentive systems
Strong financial, analytic, and modeling skills
Ability to work independently and creative problem-solving skills
Strong communication and presentation skills
Strong team player with good conflict resolution skills
Ability to identify and manage risk
WHAT YOU BRING:
2-5 years in financial analysis, synthesis, and modeling for health care systems or integrated delivery systems is preferred
Advanced MS Office software skills, SAS or SQL experience preferred
Prior experience in the research and development of complex health care topics such as provider incentive models, health risk adjustor methodologies, transparent health care product design
Bachelor’s degree
