Protection Engineer - 5+ Years
POWER Engineers is currently seeking a Protection Engineer to join our Power Delivery SCADA & Analytical Services (SAS) Department in one of our offices located in the Northeast region of the US. This position offers the opportunity to work remotely from a mutually agreed upon location.
Roles and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for successful completion of assigned projects and for maintaining and improving client relationships. Completion of these functions requires technical competence in primary production roles as well as leadership competence in working with clients and mentoring and supervising team members assigned to projects. Assigned projects will include electrical studies for utility and industrial/commercial clients. Systems to be analyzed will include conventional and renewable generation facilities, substations, and transmission and distribution systems. Technical disciplines include the following:
Protective Relaying: short circuit and symmetrical component analysis, time-current coordination, protection scheme and criteria development, relay settings, integration with SCADA systems, NERC compliance, arc flash analysis.
Applicable software: AcSELerator Quickset (SEL-5030), GE Enervista, ASPEN Oneliner, SKM-PTW, ETAP, RSCAD/RTDS

*Required Education/Experience *
Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
Five (5) or more years of industry experience performing studies in technical disciplines described in the Job Description section
EIT certified and eligible to sit for the P. Eng Exam
*Desired Education/Experience *
Preference is given to applicants with any of the following:
Registered professional engineers (P. Eng.) or equivalent
Power Systems focused MSEE
A proven history of completing similar projects in a consulting environment
Experience in mentoring others and in providing technical and commercial leadership in customer focused engineering projects

Base Salary Range: $90k - $160k
The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. The range provided above does not include additional compensation such as bonus, health benefits, vacation, 401(k) match, etc.
