job summary:

Position Summary:

The client's IT Department is looking for a Project Manager with a take charge attitude. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience cataloguing IT inventory and an abundance of technical hardware knowledge to organize and facilitate a trade out of some of our IT equipment. The position requires a balance of technical knowledge of IT equipment along with strong project management and exceptional organizational skills. We are looking for a candidate that has very strong communication skills and who is extremely comfortable verbalizing tasks and deadlines with various members of the management team. The position will be a hybrid work model with a mix of onsite time and telework.

responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the distribution and collection of computing assets, including the return and segregation of leased IT equipment of approximately 1,000 computing devices earmarked for client staff

  • Facilitate with IT staff and/or external vendors an organized approach for the return, preparation and re-distribution of IT equipment amongst Secretariat-wide staff

  • iaise with third-party vendor, Secretariat CIO and IT management staff to establish and then drive the process

  • Review and audit current IT inventory housed in client's IT

  • Designate and inventory items to be kept, recycled or disposed of as surplus material Evaluate and consolidate current inventory databases

  • Suggest efficient inventory management procedures

  • Evaluate and consolidate current practices within the loss prevention program

  • Provide guidance on asset inventory and management in line with internal and external controls and parties

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in MS Office Proficiency with MS Project and understanding dependencies in order to develop a roadmap for full execution of a three phase swap out of equipment

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Logistics, Inventory Control, Technology or related field

  • Minimum 5 years of project management or IT management

  • Minimum 2 years of inventory control experience Highly organized individual who exhibits confidence in leading a project

  • Ability to build consensus and trust while working with a disparate team

  • A sense of humor Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Able to lift 50 pounds without restriction Former local, state, federal government experience preferred
