Facebook Program Manager, Risk & Payments Launch Management in Boston, Massachusetts

Summary:

Our Risk and Payments team’s purpose is to serve our global community by providing customer support for payment issues, and protecting individuals and businesses against payment abuse. We seek to lead the payments industry in trust, integrity, and support. To help us achieve this mission, we are hiring a Program Manager in our Launch Management team. In this role, you'll be primarily responsible for project managing new product initiatives within our eCommerce product portfolio.

The Launch Management team makes sure that our Risk and Payment Operations organization is ready to support new payment products developed at Facebook. This requires coordinating and driving requirements across our internal stakeholder teams in Risk and Payments, as well as influencing product teams to incorporate fraud management and customer support best practices. We partner with multiple teams including Product, Engineering, Operations, Analytics, Legal, Policy, and Finance to ensure new products successfully launch and succeed.

Required Skills:

  1. Manage a series of projects simultaneously with varying complexity and timelines

  2. Collaborate with our Risk and Payment Operations core teams in determining requirements and resources needed that allow new products and features to scale

  3. Develop project schedules based on the product requirements, technical challenges or constraints, tooling lead-times and operational needs

  4. Work with project team members to set milestones, communicate project statuses, and identify/address potential setbacks

  5. Influence and lead efforts on behalf of Risk and Payment Operations with key cross-functional partners, including Product, Engineering, Design, Compliance, Legal, Policy and others during design, build, launch, and expansion phases of the product life cycle

  6. Define and implement core key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitoring playbook to ensure the expected benefits are delivered and to track any unexpected issues after the project is executed

  7. Close project and ensure appropriate handoff to operational owners

  8. Conduct post mortems to assess elements of the project that were successful or unsuccessful to inform future improvements and reduced risks

  9. Maintain full visibility with leadership and other critical stakeholders throughout project

  10. holding launch readiness reviews as appropriate

  11. Ensure project documents are complete, current and available for project team members, leadership and stakeholder review

  12. Work with project leaders to develop best practices and production processes in a quickly-changing and dynamic environment

  13. Establish and grow solid cross-functional relationships with Product, Engineering, Policy, Legal, Compliance and Operations to enable a high rate of success

  14. Become an expert in core risk and support infrastructure, tools, systems, and data

  15. Be familiar with organizational direction and priorities which may impact the products you support

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 4+ years experience in project/program management, business strategy, business operations, or consulting

  2. End-to-end understanding of payment processing flows/rails, roles of parties involved and types of payment methods

  3. Time management and organizational skills, especially in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment

  4. Experience driving collaboration of cross-functional teams, inspiring others, and coordinating effectively

  5. Experience resolving conflicts by finding the win-win scenarios, identifying tradeoffs, and setting clear priorities

  6. Experience controlling risk and priorities

  7. Experience weighing the pros and cons of solutions to problems before choosing the right way forward

  8. Experience communicating effectively and often via various media and to different audiences

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience working across global regions

  2. Experience & expertise working with payments, including payment processing, payments risk/fraud operations, customer support

  3. Experience resolving and communicating about issues with both technical and non-technical audiences

  4. Experience influencing across functional organizations and/or teams with varying priorities or business goals
