Amazon Program Manager - MSP Field, Mechantronics and Sustainable Packaging in Boston, Massachusetts

Are you motivated to drive significant packaging waste reduction efforts across Amazon’s global organization? We're looking for an experienced, driven, analytical, and creative Program Manager to drive e-commerce packaging strategy for our Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging (MSP) team.

This PM will be responsible for developing and scaling sustainable e-commerce packaging standards, solutions, reporting, and tools across several internal stakeholders and external vendors.

This position requires the ability to design and implement solutions that scale across the billions of products Amazon sells. To be successful, the PM will need excellent communication skills, ownership, and collaboration to drive engagement across multiple stakeholders. In MSP, we interface with core Operations, Amazon Robotics, Fulfillment Engineering, Finance, Procurement and Data Science to identify solutions which eliminate waste, reduce damages, and drive significant savings for Amazon and our customers.

In addition, this opportunity requires excellent troubleshooting, problem solving, and the ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment. Ownership of work is extremely important, and the successful candidate should have a proven record of driving projects and strategic initiatives to their completion. The ideal candidate is motivated, agile, with strong time management and project management skills.

• Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds each

• Regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head

• Walking in the FC and around area with great frequency; facilities are over a quarter mile in length

• Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours

• Should be able to work in environments with variable noise levels, lighting conditions and temperature variation

• Able to access all areas of building (ascending and descending ladders, stairs, gangways safely and without limitation)

  • able to work throughout the US

Key job responsibilities

§ Design, implement, and support metrics for the program

§ Collaborate with BI/Data Engineering teams to drive the collection of new data and the refinement of existing data sources to continually improve quality

§ Review information from multiple sources to confirm data integrity

§ Provide clear and timely reporting of key performance metrics across internal & external stakeholders

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience

  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience

  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

  • Ability to travel 50%+ of time

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
