Tableau’s Core Services team needs a talented and technical Product Management Director (Individual Contributor) who shares our passion to deliver scalable services and great features that securely and seamlessly integrate into any environment - so end users can see and understand their data, of course!

In this role, you’ll work closely with a variety of internal and external partners to understand problems, define use cases, and drive the development and adoption of identity-related features and services across the Tableau ecosystem. Throughout the software life-cycle you will identify and prioritize customer opportunities, gather and scope requirements, and ultimately deliver product features and capabilities customers love.

This role has a lot of visibility and requires close collaboration and communication with a diverse set of stakeholders across the company at all levels. As a Director, strong ownership of your domain, tenacity and demonstrated collaboration and influence skills separate good candidates from great ones.

  • Driver . You have a natural bias for action and you can handle challenges that cross boundaries; you’re a self-starter; you bring clarity, focus and leadership in ambiguous situations

  • Builder . You can uncover gaps and root causes; you can define business and technical requirements; you can write great PRFAQs, 1-pagers, 6-pagers and strategy docs; you can drill into the details on architecture and design with developers

  • Technical . Security and Software Development are your bread and butter. You keep up with security trends and stay current on software technology and development practices.

  • Team Player . In Tableau, one of our key values is “We work together.” This position requires cross-team and cross-company collaboration to be successful

  • Experienced . This is a Director PM role, which means you have hands-on experience as a Developer or PM. It means you understand how to maximize ROI in software development. It means you can define real goals and influence without authority. You’ve had executive exposure and have started developing your executive presence - you can up-level conversations, anticipate questions and communicate effectively to various audiences

  • Performer . You have a track record of success and delivering value. You have a passion for the job

Preferred Skills

  • Strong knowledge of basic IAM concepts, OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML flows

  • Working knowledge of JWT, iFrames, session management and authorization patterns (ABAC, RBAC, RLS, etc.)

  • Experience with cloud-based technologies and REST/CRUD API, along with Java and/or C++ Confidence and ability to talk directly with customers and represent the company

  • Excellent technical writing and presentation skills along with the ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the company, including executives

  • BS in Computer Science, or equivalent

  • 5+ years software industry experience as PM or Developer delivering value to customers

  • Experienced with Agile Development

  • Experience administering Tableau Server in a complex enterprise environment is always appreciated
