Job Description

Manage the development and implementation process of a specific company product.

Manage the development and implementation process of a specific company product involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products. Plan and direct schedules and monitor budget/spending. Monitor the project from initiation through delivery. Organize the interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget constraints. Assign and monitor work of systems analysis and program staff, providing technical support and direction.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Seven years of project management, product design or related experience preferred.

The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is changing the way how the cloud infrastructure is getting built, deployed, managed, operated, and consumed. One of our major goals is to build hundreds of regions world-wide with different form factors. As part of that journey, we are forming a new team to create a next generation Operating Systems for Cloud Regions, that will build, deploy, manage, operate cloud regions with unmatched scale, speed and simplicity.

As a Principal Technical Program Manager, you should be comfortable with diving deep to solve technical problems while at the same time have the ability to think big and provide the vision for the technology space. You should be able to lead the way from inception to market for new complete services. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn. Come build the state of art IaaS infrastructure starting from the ground up.


  • Own/drive/participate in array of initiatives/deliverables across the portfolio of service management capabilities, processes and technologies.

  • Gather requirements and define/deliver proper solutions (process + tech) with the mindset of reliability, quality, extensibility and scalability.

  • Influence direction of solutions with a strategic view on future aspirations

  • Ensure proper business case/ROI has been done for feature prioritization

  • Effectively manage prioritization discussions as they relate to features/requirements and roadmap; Work with partner teams to determine service strategy and prioritize features/process changes

  • Manage expectations, alignment and communications with customers and stakeholders through cadenced meetings, reports, statuses, reviews etc.

  • Build out analytics specific to the area of involvement. This includes KPIs, metrics, dashboards, and reporting. The PM should be able to use data to speak to the efficacy of their processes and capabilities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of software Program Management experience with demonstrated success in software, process engineering

  • 5+ years of experience in workflow management and process optimization.

  • 3+ years of experience in analytics – using data to inform decisions and investments

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related engineering fields. Education in technical area preferred or equivalent work experience

  • Knowledge/background in software industry products/services/applications required with knowledge of Oracle’s products/services/applications preferred

  • Experience in defining functional specifications for applications, processes and capabilities

  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently while dealing with ambiguous situations, with a strong positive attitude

  • Strong cross-group collaboration in solving complex problems

  • Ability to anticipate and analyze risks and develop mitigation plans

  • Detail-oriented, organized, critical thinker

  • Understanding of the principles and frameworks of successful project management

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong in problem solving abilities.

  • Experience developing Web applications and/or experience building mobile applications

  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills including the ability to communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences.

  • Masters in Computer Science or related engineering fields
