COVID continues to impact education systems all over the world. During the height of the crisis, School Data Sync was called upon to deploy Microsoft 365 to schools, districts, and countries worldwide. Knowing that our product was helping to enable distance learning for students everywhere became a badge of honor for our team. We continue to do our part to make sure that learning can still occur with students at home, school, or anywhere kids are studying. The data we import is important in empowering teachers to promote equity and provide individualized learning. Without SDS, many kids would not have the systems in place to get the education they need.

With our customer base continuing to grow rapidly, we are retooling our infrastructure with a new forward-looking architecture that will fuelthe digital transformation of school’s systems globally, marshallingthe deployment of Microsoft 365 and Teams to 100’s of millions oflearners,whileempoweringboth customers andtheentireEducation Ecosystem with data-rooted analytics and insights that improvelearningoutcomes.Data also provides students who learn in different ways necessary resources when they need them. We are looking for atechnicalleader tohelpshepherd the engineers and architecture of this evolving product. Responsibilities

  • Help drivelong-term architecture and detailed designforahighly scalable distributed, big datacloud servicethat ingests data from a variety of school systems to provision M365 while providing data to analytics engines.

  • Drive long-term designthinking for systems and engineering processes withsimplicity and maintainability as core tenants.

  • Deliver value through a strong collaborative approach spanning diverse and remote teams.

  • Driveimpact across the education landscape byidentifying and delivering data integrations both internally and externally.

  • Help continue todevelopand improveour“best-in-class” engineeringprocessesby ensuring that the services and the components are well-defined and modularized, secure, reliable, reusable, diagnosable, and actively monitored.

  • Mentor and developengineers across all levels through fostering curiosity and exploration,knowledge-sharing, and leveraging the skills of others

  • Be a role model for an open,honest,and inclusive approach to problem solving.

Qualifications

  • Significant years of hands-on software design and coding experience.

  • Demonstrated depth andexperience in architectureand implementation of large-scalecloud services.

  • Excellent technical, cross group collaboration and communication skills.

  • Experience building software products with diverse engineering teams and stakeholders.

  • Experience with leading geographically diverse teams

  • Experience with C#, Python, Typescript, Spark, Azure Data Lake, React nice-to-have
