Cosentini Associates (www.cosentini.com), a Tetra Tech company, invites you to consider an exciting opportunity at our Boston office. We are seeking a motivatedPlumbing/Fire Protection Engineer (entry to junior level)to join our renowned design team to design.
About this opportunity:As aPlumbing/Fire Protection Engineerat Cosentini, you will have the opportunity to grow and advance as you work on exciting and challenging projects. You will be working with some of the top engineers in the field, gaining expertise and building your reputation and career, and have a chance to make a difference through using your experience to support the process of bringing MEP/FP designs to reality.
Your role includes: • Review and analyze architectural and engineering plans using AutoDesk Revit software • Design plumbing and fire protection systems including calculations of water, gas, sanitary/sewer and storm loads while adhering to the firm’s QA/QC process.• Prepare plumbing and fire protection drawings using AutoDesk Revit • Attend meetings with architects, contractors, owners and building managers.• Organize project engineering data and maintain project records • Perform periodic field observation visits to review the progress of construction of plumbing and fire protection systems • Support construction administration activities by reviewing submittals and preparing responses to Requests for Information and providing input as needed.• Performing other duties as assigned

What kind of candidate are we looking for? We are seeking a talented and highly motivated B.S. candidate in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, with an interest in building systems design, with 0 to 5 years of experience in commercial, institutional and healthcare facilities, have an organized approach to analyzing systems and a thorough understanding of MEP/FP systems.
Qualifications/Skills include:• Experience with Revit/BIM-360 and CFD software is a plus• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)• Desire to or has passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE) with the goal of becoming a licensed Professional Engineer (PE), LEED AP BD+C accreditation or the desire to achieve accreditation is a plus• Excellent technical skills, strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and in a highly collaborative team environment• Ability and desire to work diligently in order to meet project deadlines• Firm understanding of the basic principles of heat transfer, thermodynamics and fluid dynamics.
