The Per Diem Bone Density Tech will be responsible for:

  • Performing radiographic procedures employing the use of the Dual energy X ray Absorptiometry DXA bone densitometer to produce quality images of various anatomical structures of the body for Bone Mineral Density BMD and Body Composition Analysis BCA

  • Scheduling patients using hospital scheduling programs and coordinates scan assessments. Enters appropriate demographics, visit type, and insurance

  • Observing radiation safety standards ALARA, and observing hospital patient safety policies and identifies and reports changes in patient condition

  • Performing daily quality control, routine preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment

  • Archiving and printing DXA reports for physician interpretation

  • Ordering supplies as needed for the program, patient care and general office

To qualify, you must have:

  • 6 months of field experience and certification by the International Society for Clinical Densitometry ISCD

  • Analytical skills to resolve complex problems requiring the use of scientific, mathematical, or technical principles and in‑depth, experienced‑based knowledge

  • Good communication skills to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions and well‑developed writing skills
