Oracle Database Cloud Services is one of the most popular database cloud services in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, with broad adoption across the globe. We seek a dynamic and creative world-class Product Manager with expertise and passion in delivering best-in-class Database Cloud Services, including Exadata Database Service and Base Database Service on VM.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in an area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others.

Responsibilities
Work with customers directly, as well as Oracle Customer Support, Sales and Sales Consulting teams to understand customer usage patterns, help deployment of Oracle’s innovative technologies and cloud services by working with customers’ architecture teams, and improve the adoption of best practices
Plan and execute product announcements
Create product assets using PPT, Word, and video editing software
Assists in the development of short-, medium-, and long-term plans to achieve strategic objectives.
Regularly interact across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met.
Influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations
Demonstrate leadership and people management skills.
Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development and product management.
Provide hands-on training for Customer Support and Technical Sales personnel, as well as for select customers
Develop collateral such as technical and business white papers, success stories, data sheets, brochures, best practices and product presentations
Maintain internal and external web sites on related technologies
Present at Oracle user group meetings, trade shows, customer sites, industry conferences, industry analyst meetings and at the Oracle Customer Visit Center
Track the PaaS / Converged Infrastructure market landscape, as well as competitive products and features
Customer references and stories
Evangelize product both internally and externally
Be creative in solutioning customer problems/requirements.
Skills
1 – 5 years of engineering / product management / technical sales experience, preferably in enterprise computing, with strong familiarity around computer networks, cloud technologies, virtualization, data center infrastructure; familiarity with Oracle databases as a DBA is a strong plus
Excellent written and communication / presentation skills – writing samples will be required
BS, MS or MBA in Computer Science or related technical degree
Balanced mix of leadership and technical skills, along with relevant hardware and database software experiences
Experience dealing with a broad spectrum of IT audience – ranging from CTO/CIO to database/systems/network/storage administrators
Awareness of trends and opportunities in cloud computing and potential influence on Oracle’s business
Analytical skills, with a passion to solve complex technology and business problems, and an aptitude to learn new things
Meticulous, structured and detail-oriented, while also having the ability to see the big-picture
Strong inter-personal skills – ability to effectively deal with various internal groups as well as external customers in high intensity situations
A can-do attitude, with a focus on deliverables and deadlines
Superb time management skills, especially in the context of multiple commitments
Excellent teamwork, leadership and people management skills

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only
Canada: Hiring Range from $76,700 to $167,000 CAD per annum
US: Hiring Range: from $87,600 to $199,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
