_Agency Overview_ The Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM), which oversees over $2 billion in capital programs and projects, is responsible for capital planning, project delivery, property management, and real estate services for the Commonwealth. As an agency, we care for the people of our state and the future of our planet. * Wework with state agencies to create and manage forward-thinking, sustainable buildings to meet the needs of the Commonwealth’s citizens and help achieve a zero-carbon future. * We are partners with fellow agencies to help them meet their strategic needs with fiscally responsible building and real estate solutions. * We support the growth of the Commonwealth’s economy and actively engage with private sector partners to make it easier to do business with the Commonwealth. * We work to expand access, opportunity, and equity to create more inclusive services, planning and outcomes for all the citizens of the Commonwealth. * Job Description_* DCAMM seeks candidates pursuing degrees in construction management, architecture/planning, and mechanical or civil engineering who are interested in learning how their field of study relates to public design and construction. Coop up to 6 months, starting as early as this summer or as late as the end of calendar year 2024, up to full time hours. *Duties* Review design and construction documents for compliance with sound engineering principles. Assist with preparation for, and attend weekly project meetings. Review meeting minutes. Review payment requisitions, change orders, project schedule, reports, project documentation (including as builds, warranties). Assist with oversight and verification of contractor performed construction work. Help with review of punchlist items and project close-out. *Desirable skills and qualities:* Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; Ability to gather information through questioning individuals and by examining records and documents.
