Job Description

The Wang YMCA is searching for an energetic leader to engage with out current and potential members of our community to provide outstanding customer service, a warm welcoming and friendly environment and work as part of a team to exceed member expectations. Under the supervision of the Director of Membership Sales and Service, the position will represent the YMCA in accordance with the organization's mission and goals. The Welcome Center Representative will assist with membership and program sales, handles telephone calls, regulate lobby traffic, provide all membership and program information, and know and execute policies and procedures.

HOURS: Part time, 17 hours per week, evening shifts (starting 4PM/5PM).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Flexibility to work multiple shifts if needed

  • Conduct prospective member tours as needed

  • Handle member and non-member phone calls per YMCA policies

  • Perform program registrations as well as membership sign ups in Spirit or electronic registration system

  • Perform responsibilities such as cashing out, balancing daily transactions, and dropping envelopes in safe

  • Maintain an orderly and neat workspace during your shift

  • Be ready and able to respond to an emergency, assemble emergency equipment and assist in care of the victim

  • Attend all staff meetings

    Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time as well as work and train on a computer

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls

  • The employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms

  • The employee must occasionally life and/or move up to 20 pounds

  • Physically and verbally able to interact with members and staff

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate


  • Safety Trainings (within 30 days of employment, renewed annually)

  • Oxygen Administration and First Aid (within 30 days of employment, renewed biannually)

  • CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (within 30 days of employment, renewed annually)

  • Other trainings to be determined as needed
