We are looking to hire a Marketing Manager – New Construction – Shakopee, MN

This is just a high-level overview of the role we need you to fill for us

The Marketing Manager – New Construction for Building Solutions is part of the Construction Systems Marketing team and is responsible for the development of the overall business strategy and tactical implementation for the identified industry Sector by collaboratively working with Construction Systems Sales Management to provide direction and guidance to the business in the execution of the strategy.

The Marketing Manager is the resident expert in the identified industry Sector and is the face of Master Builders Solutions to the industry.

  • Development of Sector strategy and tactics, coordinating execution to meet business/sales/revenue growth objectives. Evaluating the product mix within the sector, providing analysis and insight for the Sector go-to-market approach. Works closely with Regional Sales Managers on sales pipeline management and growth strategies to achieve revenue targets.

  • Works closely with Regional Sales Managers to implement the sector strategy, developing tactics and assisting sales specialists in the execution of the sector strategy and tactics. Develops customer relationships with contractors, design professionals and owners to develop a deeper understanding of customer needs.

  • Works closely with the Product Management team to identify, develop and promote products critical for success within the sector.

  • Works closely with the Product Management team to understand the competitive landscape, develop detailed competitive analysis of significant sector competitors, and develop competitive response scenarios based upon insights gained from competitive analysis as well as identify competitive gaps and works with Product Management to develop approaches to overcome gaps and create competitive advantages.

Principal Responsibilities

• Analyze industry sector size, characteristics, growth opportunities, barriers sector business

cycles

• Development of sector strategy and tactics and coordinates execution to meet

business/sales/revenue growth objectives.

• Articulates the value proposition of the offering and outlines the strategic position and action

required to continue to grow in the sector.

• Serve as the liaison for the sector, coordinating the implementation of projects and tactics

across multiple functions such as sales, product management, marketing communications,

technical service, R&D.

• Collaborates with sales specialists and Regional Mangers to provide direction in the

development of Sales Operating Plans that support the sector strategy, align tactics with the

Regional Sales strategy and will ensure maximum revenue and profit generation.

• Works to build and nurture relationships with key customers and industry influencers, including

engineering firms, national contractors, owners, developers, trade association executives and

others with influence within the sector.

• Works with Product Management to develop an understanding of how the products sold into

the sector, the competitive landscape, immediate and long-term threats and opportunities, and

a plan to address competitive product issues.

• Works with technical service, product management and regional managers to develop and

coordinate the delivery of detailed training programs to educate sales team members on the

sector-specific markets issues.

• Works with communications and product management to develop and create sales tools such

as digital content, marketing assets, campaigns and programs.

• Works to promote Master Builders Solution expertise in the sector through publication of

technical papers, magazine articles, and participation industry associations.

• Identifies relevant industry events/trade shows and manages the participation in these shows

to ensure maximum ROI.

• Monitors sales results against targets and identifies areas for improvement.

Knowledge and Experience

  • 5-10 years of experience in new construction for building solutions product marketing or sales role

  • BA degree in Marketing/Business or equivalent work experience

  • Strategic marketing knowledge

  • Demonstrated ability to identify market opportunities, develop and implement strategy to leverage market opportunity, from concept to completion

  • Team leadership in either a direct or indirect management role

  • Detailed market or customer knowledge

  • Pre-fabrication and modular construction knowledge, preferred
