Market Data Vendor Manager – Boston, MA
Overview of the Role:
Working within the IT department as part of the global Market data administration team, the position is responsible for contract negotiations, business relationship management, supplier management due diligence and ensuring company has best of breed services at optimal cost.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Liaising with business users within company to ensure that their requirements are understood and addressed in the most cost-effective manner both for the individual user and company overall.
Managing the relationship between company and our market data suppliers. This includes negotiating provisions of use/usage restrictions and commercial terms for new contracts and renewals.
Ensuring that our usage of Market Data and Research does not breach the agreements we have with our third-party suppliers. This will involve close liaison with IT teams developing new systems as well as with business users.
Developing, maintaining and executing our Market Data strategy. The strategy will highlight significant planned changes to the provision of Market Data within company triggered by changing user requirements, product withdrawals, product releases and other opportunities for rationalizing/streamlining our Market Data usage.
Keeping up to date with industry developments and trends by building strong relationships with peers in other firms.
Previous experience of managing high value contracts with Market Data suppliers (Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, FactSet, MSCI, FTSE etc.).
Experience of working with Market Data within the financial industry.
Experience of managing multi-million-dollar budgets.
Knowledge of FITS inventory system.
Strong organizational skills.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to liaise with senior management, peers and other team members.
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Prepared to work hard and will enjoy the challenges of a fast moving and changing environment.
Strong management of stakeholders and their issues.
