How will you make an impact?

The Manager, Marketing Programs Management will lead a team of six Marketing Program Managers. You will have both people leadership and marketing program management responsibilities. The Marketing Program Manager is a critical marketing role at Thermo Fisher Scientific and works with a cross-functional team that builds marketing programs in coordination with the business unit and division marketing teams.

As a key member of the leadership team, you will be a self-starter who can work both independently and with a team, be self-motivated and encourage the same in the team, be highly adaptable and flexible to change direction when needed and clearly communicate such change. You will be a critical, strategic planner, balance multiple tasks, have excellent problem-solving skills, have strong business and budgeting savvy, and display calmness and composure under stress or uncertainty, inspiring team members and partners. Additionally, you will have the ability to effectively interact with and relate to people at all levels; have an ability to move and influence a group, moving the team into a common direction and with a common vision.

What will you do?

People leadership:

  • Drive Marketing Program Management excellence inclusive of; vision, strategy, implementation, and optimization

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Marketing Programs Management team, based globally, to support business units to deliver impactful marketing campaigns

  • Provide input to Division Marketing Leadership Team and give to the overall direction of the team

  • Partner with Marketing Operations to ensure Marketing Program Managers are efficiently delivering against key partner expectations and critical metrics such as on time delivery, accuracy, and speed.

Marketing Program Manager:

  • Partner with business unit to support translating marketing strategy to marketing execution, including,

  • Quarterly and yearly planning cycles and provide input to deliver and implement integrated marketing programs

  • Review programs and ensures consistency and timely execution of all tactics linked to these programs

  • Ensure project intake is completed accurately to allow for successful downstream deployment

  • Collaborate with Business Unit Marketing Partners and digital marketing specialists on the tactical customer journeys and channel mix to optimize the customer experience and marketing campaign effectiveness

  • Collaborate with analytics team to understand and report out on campaign performance and insights and recommend next steps and optimization tactics as appropriate.

  • Share marketing standard methodologies, legal, and brand guidelines and work with business to ensure they are using such practices

  • Partner with cross-functional division marketing team comprised of creative services, communications, digital marketing, events, and analytics is delivering against business unit programs consistently and in a timely fashion

  • Consistently communicates status of projects on a weekly basis, crafting 100% transparency of prioritization, project status, expectations, next steps and final delivery.

  • Lead work in a project management tool (Workfront) to ensure tactics are moving through marketing operations and provide input to Operations team to improve our efficiency to supporting key partners

  • Manages relationships through open and consistent communication to establish and maintain Business Partner's trust including setting clear expectations.

  • Handle a high volume of tactics and prioritize activities to optimally deliver plans on time and budget

How will you get here?

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required

Experience

  • 5+ years working in a marketing program manager role, with min 2 years in people management, in a fast-paced highly matrixed organization and working with a global organization

  • Ability to understand business strategies and prioritize activities appropriately.

  • Experience with project management tool, preferably Workfront

  • Must be a phenomenal teammate with the ability to lead multiple projects and shifting priorities within a fast-paced environment

  • Able to work in a highly matrixed environment and effectively navigate systems/processes.

  • Resourceful in solving problems

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
