Our team is made up of four different functions that work together: Creative Operations, Digital Content, Digital Design and Digital Copy. Together, we strive to create content that exemplifies our Brand Mission, Values, and Purpose (aka, our MVP). We develop content and storytelling that supports our digital direct commerce & wholesale ecosystem. We’re talking everything from Converse.com, our B2B site, email campaigns, paid social, and much more. Specifically, your role will be focused in the Content function. As a team, we move our business goals forward through compelling brand stories, seasonal commercial stories across our digital channels—all over the world.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We’re seeking a Manager for the Content function—someone who is a natural leader, has experience concepting, planning, and executing photo & video shoots along with strong Art Direction skills and passion for the Converse brand. Someone with knowledge of concepting and creating content for integrated digital consumer journeys, with an entrepreneurial mindset.

This candidate should have an unbending rigor for creating high-quality work. Someone who is driven, strategic, thinks critically, is accountable, empathetic, resourceful, takes initiative and has great interpersonal skills. This role will manage more junior level creatives.

This role will also help drive the strategy and vision for a number of our product lines and content functions, coming up with ideas that will grow our business. This role will also entail being the creative liaison with internal & external partners.

It is crucial for this role to have strong relationships with the immediate functions on your wider team (Operations & Production, Copywriting, & Design) as well as our cross-functional partners; primarily our Experience Strategy team, Brand team, Digital Merchandising, Experience Operations and product teams.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

  • Working under the direction of the Director, Global Digital Content, you will strategize and concept all aspects of our content creation which fuel our digital experiences (focusing on, but not limited to, converse.com experiences, converse.com emails and both paid and organic social and other forms of paid media )

  • In this role you will own the concepting (inclusive of strategy, storytelling & copy and vision of the final experience) through post-production and final finished assets of still photography & motion/video

  • You will handle product & lifestyle still and motion content—experience being the lead art director on set, working with product, talent, photo/videographers, producers, and associated photoshoot staff

  • Our content creation spans seasonal product storytelling, style-led editorial storytelling and a high volume of product and on-body imagery each season—you will work on all of this

  • You will manage mid and junior level creatives and help train and develop them—you will delegate and help give creative inspiration & oversight to their day-to-day work

  • You will have strong communication skills and be expected to clearly articulate your concept decks and pitch your ideas to internal teams, senior leadership as well as external partners in the Energy and Influencer Marketing space

  • You will collaborate in creating & driving strategies to grow our brand and business and develop frameworks for how we engage & collaborate with creative partners

  • You will work with Project Managers/Producers and Experience Strategists to assist in creating comprehensive briefs, and execute high-quality work while meeting deadlines/budget

  • Be willing to take risks to determine the balance between exceptional creative and relevant business needs

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

As a Manager, Global Digital Content, you will work with our team of Designers, Copywriters, Ops/Producers, and Experience Strategists. You will partner closely with teams across the Digital Organization, Brand, Product, and Geography teams, to deliver content that supports Converse Marketplace business goals. This role reports to the Director, Global Digital Content.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or design-related equivalent

  • 6+ years’ experience in digital design & art direction for large retail e-commerce or key digital agency experience

  • Specific experience to the streetwear footwear/apparel industry is a huge plus

  • Skills with Adobe Suite, Frame.io, and other post-production software

  • Deep understanding of animation, video editing, photo retouching to assist in the creation process

  • A genuine passion for digital marketing and the online space with a strong knowledge of digital commerce, performance marketing (email, paid social and other media) A/B testing, designing for different and multiple target audiences, and social media platforms

  • Specific experience to the streetwear footwear/apparel industry is a huge plus

  • Able to manage multiple and competing work priorities, demands and changes

  • Familiarity with project tracking tools such as Asana or Trello

  • A genuine passion and connection to culture and trend and style

  • Understanding of current digital content & design trends for e-commerce

  • People management experience

  • Strong knowledge of digital commerce, user-experience, and social media platforms

  • Strong writing and communications experience
