Maintenance Technician

Employee Type:: Regular Full-time


SCHEDULE: 40 hours Monday-Friday, 7:00AM-330PM for initial training, permanent schedule is 11AM-8PM, Monday-Friday. This position is essential in the event of Weather or other emergencies with On Call Responsibilities.

Pays $21.50 per hour and carries a $1500.00 retention bonus paid at 3, 6, and 12 months for new hires to Pine Street Inn.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, including plumbing, minor electrical work and painting, basic carpentry, Special events setups, preventive maintenance programs, the ability to troubleshoot H.V.A.C and food service equipment and seasonal snow removal etc. Must be able to delegate administrative work assignments, via electronic devices. Respond to emails in a timely manner and have verbal communication with Administrator of Facilities on daily basis. This is a full time position with potential growth from maintenance technician to Lead maintenance. Must be able to participate in Main Campus On call rotation schedule and respond to emergency call within a twenty mile radius. Maintain positive working relationships and communication with staff and the facilities department team.



  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Ability to read printed labels and instructions

  • Operate equipment and company vehicle if needed for material pick up

  • Must have a valid driver-s license in good standing

  • Ability to pass a CORI clearance

  • Emergency on call / Holiday onsite rotation coverage for PSI Main Campus


  • Bilingual English/Spanish

  • Hoisting License


  • Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience

  • Knowledge of building trades such as painting, plumbing, carpentry and electrical systems

  • Knowledge of Completing Work order forms


  • Previous experience in Building Maintenance

  • Service calls


  • Operate snow / landscape equipment and

  • Frequent bending, standing, stooping, stretching, and lifting

  • Ability to lift heavy objects 50 - 100 lbs. assisted, such as appliances and furniture

  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders and access all areas of the buildings

  • Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations within the campus area


  • Ability to follow detailed directions and complete all assignments


  • Preventative maintenance and daily service repair work

  • Respond to requests for emergency maintenance and repairs of all equipment systems and fixtures in the building and on the grounds

  • Work under the Administrator of Facilities and accept instructions and assignments.

  • Work holidays as Thanksgiving / Christmas Day.

  • Performs other duties as check building engines work orders online or via cell phone

  • Perform / Participate in the Emergency On Call Site Rotation Schedule.

  • To clearly understand and participate in the proper communication system set up by the Maintenance Department

  • Complete daily maintenance work orders and address any safety concerns with team and administrator of Facilities.

  • Assist in the distribution of supplies and create inventory list to order on a monthly basis.

  • Maintain all building grounds so that it is always clean and a neighborhood asset (mowing, raking, snow removal, etc.)

  • Maintain all equipment, tools and shop area pertinent to your work

  • Maintain a clean, safe and heathy workshop on a daily basis

  • Maintain positive working relationships and communication with building staff

  • Attend core curriculum training and attend other related training as required

  • Perform other related duties as required/directed by Administrator

  • Perform additional duties as may be required from time to time

  • Comply with all workplace health and safety requirements of the Inn, and elevate matters impacting health and safety to Administrator of Facilities or the Facilities Hub in the absence of administrator
