SMX is seeking a Lead Procurement Specialist (Commercial Services) to support commercial proposals and contracts to include commercial clients, state/local governments, nonprofits, and indirect contracts. This position is 100% remote. Support will include pre-award and post-award procurement activities.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Experience with cloud service providers and software providers

  • Manage and execute various activities related to sourcing and procurements in support of internal and external end-users

  • Responsible for all pre-award and post-award procurement activities

  • Manages all company reseller agreements and service provider agreements

  • Provides ordering guidance and monitors compliance for company reseller agreements and service provider agreements

  • Provides proposal support, including price and terms negotiations as needed

  • Provides guidance to internal customers (program teams)

  • Reviews and analyzes complex solicitations and price proposals from suppliers

  • Ensures compliance with the company‚Äôs procurement procedures

  • Recommends process improvements related to commercial and indirect procurement practices

  • Maintains procurement files to ensure compliance with company procedures

  • Recommends solutions to address issues in commercial, state/local, nonprofit, or indirect procurements

  • Provides advice and assistance in commercial, state/local, nonprofit, or indirect procurement matters to the Director of Subcontracts

  • May administer procurements or participate on proposal teams

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline plus 10 or more years of directly related experience in a commercial contracting environment. In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 15 years applicable work experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in negotiating and leveraging value added reseller agreements

  • Experience with non-Federal customers, such as state/local government, commercial, and non-profit organizations

  • Experience with administering agreements with major OEMs and/or service providers (example: AWS, Azure, Google)

  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing staff in a fast-paced environment with simultaneous major programs and multiple proposals

  • Ability to work serving multiple teams and their leaders

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a collaborative environment

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

  • Proficient with MS Word and Excel

Desired:

  • CostPoint experience a plus
