Job Title: Laboratory Technologist II Job Responsibilities: - Follow the laboratory?s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results. - Operate complex precision instrumentation and a variety of automated and electronic equipment. - Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures (see department SOP?s). - Review and release test results. - Maintain complete records of all testing performed on-site. - Adhere to the laboratory?s quality control practices, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and all maintenance performed. - Perform proficiency testing and maintain the appropriate records. - Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results, correct the problems encountered or immediately notify the supervisor. - Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory?s established performance specifications. - Ability to assist in developing and modifying procedures and programs to ensure the accuracy of a test. - Receive, record, and qualify new reagents when applicable. - Follow CLIA, HIPPA, OSHA and safety guidelines as described in their respective guidelines. - Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor. - This is not an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities, but rather a general description of the work performed by this position. Job Requirements: Education: - Bachelor?s degree or equivalent/MLT with associates degree or equivalent - Must be CLIA eligible for High Complexity Testing Preferred Qualifications: - Experience performing clinical testing on an automated chemistry analyzer - Experience participating in analytical laboratory validation including adhering to approved protocols, data review and report writing - Experience with Beckman IA/CC - Military experience a plus Work Experience: - 5+ years clinical experience (high complexity testing) preferred. Minimum 2 years of clinical laboratory experience in highly complex testing for those with BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology Special Requirements: - Must have the ability to establish work priorities and handle several procedures simultaneously - Exceptional attention to detail - Skilled at laboratory operational workflows - Must interact with other coworkers, and internal and external customers with courtesy and respect - Must protect patient confidentiality at all times Location: - Boston, MA, on-site Employment Type: - Full-time, regular business hours Relocation Assistance: - None Salary Range: - \$75,000 - \$80,000 per year
