As an Engineer, you will be responsible for building this cutting-edge technology framework that facilitates developer productivity without compromising on quality at enterprise scale.

Our mission is to accelerate the pace of financial innovation and build new financial products for American Express. Our platform streamlines the process of launching and iterating on financial products.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop software individually and help improve the team

  • Help define and implement algorithms for financial forecasting and modeling

  • Full-stack development with focus on API design and implementation

  • Provide Operational support with building platform monitoring tools/dashboards, ad hoc reports

  • Defect Fixes, Performance Testing, Endurance testing

Qualifications

  • You have at least a BS in Computer Science or equivalent.

  • You can write code professionally

  • You understand principles of application and data security

  • You have an interest in understanding complex algorithms and applying them

  • You are comfortable giving code reviews and technical design feedback, with opinions on coding practices and methodologies.

  • Must have demonstrated proficiency and experience in the following tools and technologies:

  • Kotlin (ktor, koin, jooq)

  • Java 8 (Lambdas, Streams, Completable Future, optional, generics)

  • Test Driven Development

  • Designing database schemas, index design, optimizations for query tuning

  • Cloud technologies (eg. docker, ECS, AWS systems)

  • Modern software engineering tools: git workflows, gradle, load testing tools, mock frameworks
