This Opportunity

WSP USA is seeking a BIM Technician that can sit out of any mutually agreed WSP USA office .

The WSP BIM Technician is responsible for maintaining drawing and modeling standards, participating in drawing production, and performing non-routine and complex drafting and modeling assignments through the use of various software programs, primarily Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and BIM360. Responsible for collaborating with project leads/engineers/designers to ensure drawings are accurate and complete. Working with some supervision, the BIM Technician is accountable for accuracy, timeliness, and reliability, reporting to their Supervisor.

Your Impact

  • Knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, BIM360, and AutoCAD, including drafting, modeling, custom family creation, drawing package management, and clash detection.

  • Ability to anticipate and recognize issues related to own work.

  • Assists supervisor by providing input on schedule and production tasks.

  • Demonstrates an intermediate level of written and verbal communication both internally and externally.

  • Experience monitoring and successfully managing time spent versus time allocated for task completion.

  • Implements drawing quality standards.

  • Assists with managing the development and output of document sets for WSP engineering staff.

  • Performs Revit project setups and updates with some direction of engineering staff with some supervisory guidance.

  • Performs 2D drafting in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.

  • Assist with drawing organization for large, complex drawing packages across multiple companies.

  • Facilitates collaboration and clash detection for a large, multi-discipline project team across multiple companies.

  • Troubleshoots general AutoCAD/Revit project-related issues with limited assistance of department management.

  • Participates in AutoCAD/Revit development.

  • Maintains WSP Revit standards and processes.

  • Self-Checks own work to identify QA/QC improvement opportunities.

  • Leverages tools and technology to provide quality solutions to BIM team and staff.

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • High school Diploma or GED required

  • 5+ years’ experience using AutoCAD, Revit & Navisworks technologies within the A/E/C industry

  • Experience with AutoCAD, Navisworks and Revit documentation and management

  • Experience and understanding of document management applications (SharePoint, FileZilla, Dropbox, BIM 360, etc.)

  • Proven ability to understand and recognize complex design problems.

  • Effective communication skills with a team-oriented attitude.

  • Active Listening - Ability to actively attend to, convey, and understand the comments and questions of others.

  • Applied Learning - Ability to participate in needed learning activities in a way that makes the most of the learning experience.

Compensation: Expected Salary (all locations): $51,000 - $80,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.

Expected Salary (Colorado only): $59,800 - $70,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
