The opportunity

As part of the Business Intelligence Department, the Inforce Pricing Senior Analyst will be heavily involved in supporting pricing management, internal pricing teams and the Pricing Officer in daily pricing strategy activities for all prospective new business and inforce clients including pricing analytics, internal financial reporting, and implementation of key strategic project initiatives.

This role will play a critical function in helping improve sales and retain existing clients that will drive to meet organizational financial objectives. In addition, this role will operate as a key strategic advisor to the Strategic Relationship Management (SRM) and Sales teams. The candidate will strive to build on prior experiences to further develop strong data analytical skills and answer complex questions and needs with data and reporting.

The candidate will conduct both qualitative and quantitative internal data analysis and external market studies, support internal customer needs, help guide pricing strategy and conduct business process analysis to improve pricing operations and management. This includes financial analytics and reporting that relate to pricing and underwriting of existing and prospective clients as well as analytics relating to competition. The Inforce Pricing Senior Analyst will demonstrate and develop both leadership, coaching and consultative skills in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Support and analyze key strategic pricing initiatives aimed at improving profitability, competitiveness and growth through market, cost and profitability analysis.

  • Support and advise the teams’ and internal customers’ needs for information and data from pricing models, the P&L and other relevant pricing tools in relation to our overall business strategy.

  • Collaborate and consult with the sales and SRM teams along with other internal departments on all new business, repricing and client retention efforts.

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial analytics and reporting for internal departments and Senior Management to help understand financial performance indicators and profitability metrics for inforce clients. Present reporting to Management and internal partners when required.

  • Work with the Pricing Manager and Pricing Officer in developing new tools and processes to meet internal and external customer demands.

  • Analyze documentation for new prospective clients received throughout the pre-sale process to determine all business, financial and operational risks.

  • Collaborate with sales and relationship management to help them understand pricing strategy and financial metrics for their specific clients.

  • Provide leadership support and coaching in the day-to-day operations of the Pricing Team.

  • Support the Pricing Manager and Pricing Officer with project management and ad hoc analysis as required.

What we are looking for

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ of financial experience within the financial services industry.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics or related field.

  • Experience with financial reporting, pricing, underwriting or risk analysis, and marketplace analytics.

  • Experience performing financial analysis of costs, prices and competitive information using modeling skills in Excel, Access or other modeling tools.

  • Proven success working with large and complex data sets, databases and information systems to derive sound business decisions.

  • Must be able to use big picture thinking and have the desire to inspire change through the organization, positively impacting business growth and profitability.

  • Must have strong analytical, communication and writing skills.

  • Attention to detail and strong business/client judgment.

  • Proactive critical thinking and willingness to innovate and question the status quo.

  • Proven organizational, time management and prioritization skills to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Exceptional work ethic, positive attitude, eagerness to learn and take on new responsibilities.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across departments within the organization including senior leadership, peer, and junior team members.

  • Expert knowledge and thorough experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, SalesForce, Adobe and PeopleSoft or any financial reporting/modeling programs.

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location

Boston, Massachusetts

Salary range is expected to be between

$68,475.00 USD - $114,125.00 USD
