Meta IDC Global Environmental Program Manager in Boston, Massachusetts
Summary:
Meta is seeking a highly skilled EHS professional with good understanding of end-to-end project management lifecycle and leveraging data to enable sound decision-making. This individual would have sound program management skills, including strategic communications at all levels of the organization, operationalizing complex EHS processes, and driving accountability within cross functional teams. This person will oversee, lead, partner with and project manage all the critical operational Environmental programs, permits, processes and elements pertaining to Meta’s IDC Global EHS Management System.

IDC Global Environmental Program Manager Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and oversee all standards, programs, processes and permits pertaining to the Environmental rule and regulations applicable to Meta-IDC of Environmental law internationally Form and work well within a cross-functional team environment
Site Selection: Monthly coordination with Site Selection Environmental Team manager on upcoming projects, site-specific needs, and potential impacts to operations via permitting or design needs (and relationship building between teams)
Have visibility to site selection team initiatives on expansions to existing sites and helps coordinate with Site EHS (CMOPs, access, vendor management)
Design/Construction: Supports internal teams on design changes that affect environmental standards and requirements, including noise, light, water, or other pollution concerns
Participate in team, global and cross-functional meetings to support environmental permitting and processes
Monthly coordination with internal partners to review any gaps, violations, complaints, or concerns with environmental compliance during construction
Coordinate EHS team review of environmental permits and documentation to support turnover to operations
Work with internal teams and Site EHS to support site startup and turnover
Works with internal teams in the event of environmental contamination (e.g., significant oil spills, unexpected subsurface impacts)
Support Site EHS Team in building relationships with regulatory agencies
Develop and implement a global plan for standardizing and producing SPCC plans
Support Site EHS Coordinator with execution of wastewater treatment plans, permitting processes, chemical management, waste disposal, etc.
Operations: Develops plans to support IDC with environmental compliance for all stages of operations (air, noise, chemical and waste management, SPCC, bio/wetlands)
Coordinates with and maintains schedule for third party consultant(s) to support standard implementation, regulatory compliance and best practices
Develops and maintains FB tooling for environmental compliance (generator automation, refrigerant management, chemical inventories, etc.)
works with partners and Site Selection on water program tooling
Develops and coordinates environmental awareness and compliance training (e.g., schedules, slide decks, third party vendors) for certification completion
Works with cross-functional partners to promote IDC environmental culture and awareness
Defines best practices in chemical handling/inventory/hazardous waste management and works with the global EHS team to ensure requirements are included within EHS standard
Assesses and ensures consistency and standardization with regulatory compliance and EHS best practices across sites/regions
Coordinates with internal partners and site-based teams to ensure environmental incident scenarios are addressed in emergency planning
Supports environmental and brownfields for operational sites and retrofit activities
Leads in the development/revision of environmental management standards and continuous improvement processes
Creates and manages internal assessment criteria for environmental standards that are used in conjunction with existing and future EHS assessment programs
Manages and maintains the generator tracking tooling
Have visibility to assist and support stack testing schedules, scopes, contracting with Site and Regional EHS
Provide overall Environmental Engineering support to all sites world-wide, assisting with educating and creating the means and methods to ensure all applicable reporting requirements are met
Ability to travel 20-30%
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
10+ years of EHS experience in high-risk work environments assessing, managing and raising awareness of environmental programs, risks and driving a process of compliance and continuous improvement based off of internationally recognized processes and procedures
Bachelor's of Science in Environmental Engineering or other related degree aligned to EHS
Demonstrated experience in assisting and developing Environmental compliance training, implementing adult learning styles and how to access effectiveness of such learning events
Demonstrated experience in project management, successfully leading teams to success, experience removing barriers, make decisions and maintain project timelines
Experience assessing and assisting in the implementation of Environmental rule and regulation within the U.S. and Globally
Demonstrated skill in document management systems and continuous improvement methods
Experience in assessing risk and apply proper programs, tools and resources to assist the company in managing, recognizing, minimizing the Environmental risks
Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
Solid program management and interpersonal skills
Project management skills
Experience in creating strategic plans and processes
Experience working well with others, be a leader in a team environment and skillfully collaborate with other groups or teams
Experienced in managing within an international standard of assessments and continuous improvement

Graduate degree in Environmental Engineering, EHS or relevant field
Professional licenses and or EHS certifications
Certified ISO 14001 and 45001 Lead Auditor
Working knowledge of Data Center facilities
