Role Overview:

We are looking for a tenacious, curious, fun individual to join our Global Communications team as the Head of Public Relations. You will be a leader, strategist, writer, storyteller, and relationship blazer who builds earned media programs contributing to brand awareness. You're innovative, move quick, and know how to bring buzz to a noisy market. The role manages public relations initiatives and has frequent engagement with C-suite and agencies across #TeamTrellix and the industry.

About the Role:

Develop and drive a Global Public Relations program that explains how we are the XDR market leader, a primary source of threat insights and an innovator and disruptor in the industry.

Manage and develop a team of PR managers and external agencies, tracking budgets, monthly reporting and delivery of business goals.

Proactively pitch media to build and nurture relationships with contacts in collaboration with the PR agency; collaborate on the responses to inquiries, and identify opportunities to garner news coverage.

Develop media materials inclusive of press releases, pitches, talking points, articles, key data analysis reports and guide strategy for launches.

Build and/or strengthen key reporter relationships, staying current on relevant news outlets, reporters and proactively pitch Trellix spokespeople, thought leadership, and impact stories.

Assist in the preparation of spokespeople and leaders for media interviews and speaking engagements by providing refresher media training as appropriate and facilitating and coordinating media training for spokespeople when required.

Own media strategy of corporate programs spanning reputation, culture and brand.

Bring innovative ideas to advance the overall Global Communications team in terms of techniques, tools and ideas.

About You:

Communications professional with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience.

Understanding of cybersecurity industry, with a strong background in media relations best practices, reporter engagement, and crisis and reputation management.

Proven success in developing and executing external communications strategy and communications plans in tech.

Strong communication skills, comfortable managing to results - provide counsel, ask solid questions, challenge the status quo, suggest alternatives, and articulate pros and cons.

Ability to successfully engage and manage an external PR agency.

Strong listening and persuasive communication skills; able to gain consensus through influence.

Experience in measuring the effectiveness of communication strategies.

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

PR agency experience is a plus.

Bachelor's degree, preferably in Communications, English, Public Relations, or Journalism preferred.
